I disagree. One of the main problems I have with Nintendo games(mainly Mario) is that they're too short. It's nice to see Nintendo put more work into this to justify the price.

I don't think the game justifies the length though. 10+ hours with your only combat attacks being jump, hammer, and 1 special attack per character is insane, when I can get all of that in the first 15 minutes of Paper Jam. To me, it's more about pacing then length. A short but sweet game makes me want to replay again and again, naturally adding to my total playtime. A long game that feels like a slow burn is harder for me to want to replay.

I like the no gear boss battles. I'm interested to see how it works with the later bosses. I just died to the final boss last night, and I haven't retried it yet. But I'm definitely using gear. 😂
