Hi John, I've had this happen on diff plugs before (very similar) and found an extractor socket worked well, designed to dig into the steel and grip. They damage the plug so make sure you have a replacement on hand. Failing that, tack welding a nut to the front of the plug is an option, if done carefully

Just asking, as I know that GL5 oil can be known to eat away the syncho rings in the gearbox wouldn't GL4 be recommended to be used? AS i know that GL5 oil is known for diffs.

There seems to be mixed opinions on the topic. Toyota specifically states GL-4 or GL-5 for this transmission. We chose to use GL-5 in this case but will monitor it and report back if we come across any issues.

Hi, thanks for watching. The hand pump shown is a 1L Tom Thumb by STM - relatively cheap and works well for driveline oils in particular
