Hi James, thanks for watching. Unfortunately that's the way it goes sometimes, ours was already stripped from a previous owner, who had found it now seals better with no gasket, but we'll be looking at a thread repair (possibly Heli-coil) as a longer term solution

the most important specc for the trans case oil is it has to be GL-4 gearoil, because these cases have brass elements in it, GL-5 will work but will eat the syncro that is in there

Thanks for watching mate. Yes, we did use GL-4 in the transfer case as specified

Do you guys happen to know what the Suzuki part number is for the manual transmission filler plug bolt and gasket if it has one?

Hi mate, the way we find our part numbers for the Jimny (as well as all our other cars) is using Partsouq.com. You can enter your Jimny Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), which is a 17-digit code unique to each car, and then see exploded diagrams for every part of your specific car. You can for example search for transmission, and find all of the Suzuki part numbers related to that, including plugs and gaskets

Hi, thanks for watching. We found a copy of the Suzuki Factory Service Manual (FSM) online, which contains maintenance details including torque specifications

Jimny automatic boxs are Aisin & standard ATF is not recommed. Suzuki ATF 3309 is the specicfied ATF, Mobile 3009 (chec the number & by far the cheapest ATF with the correct specs is Toyota T4. I had shifting problems when I drained & filled with Valverline synthetic ATF. Drained & filled 4 times using Toyota T4 & my Jimny with close to 200,000 KLM's is now shifting like new.

When the torque wrench clicks, that’s the sign to stop turning. Not another quarter turn 😂

think you guys got it wrong. the rear df fill plug can't have a higher torque than the drain plug!

Hi, thanks for watching. I'm not sure where this comment comes from, but the figures shown are correct as per the factory service manual (FSM). It makes sense that the filler plug would have a higher torque specification here, as the filler plus is a straight thread with a gasket, whereas the drain plug is a tapered thread
