the nearest real arcade to me serves alchohol. turns out that being able to buy a 20$ wristband and play all the games you want for the rest of the day attracts mostly college students. real arcade because all of the "arcades" within less than a two hour drive are just casinos wearing the name like a skinwalker trying to avoid anti-gambling laws. so i guess the difference is whether or not they want to be prosecuted in a court of law?
