Lol! Came across your video, 7 years after uploading, but better late than never. Nice idea, but I'm curious to know what is difference in power generation as compared to individual coils did this arrangement bring? I couldn't find your upload where you shared the output results for this model, please help me navigate to the video

This type of Stator is great for a really low RPM turbines, 100RPM or less, i noticed it loosed power production at high rpm speed. i recommend yo stick to traditional coils.

@@emagnets I'm willing to create a pmg with small size as I need 12v 1Amp output, can go upto 2-3 coils. Do you have recommendations for coil and wire size. Thanks

Emagnets am just wondering why this overlapped stator would lose power at high RPM? Thanks, I would have thought that this stator is the most efficient as it utilises peak flux and copper sits in all the available space as opposed to traditional coils.

Bonjour, hello, I’m struggling with the path of designing my WT, Rather than starting with the WT itself, I rather started by determining the wind power (potential available) to about 26Nm torque Now that I know what energy I’m dealing with, I just can’t find anywhere what this force will allow me to run (turn) as a PMA. Will it turn a 3m large, one rotor with XYZ many magnets, and two external stators with XYZ many coils (with IDK how many turns of IDK what gauge) Based on my potentially available 26Nm torque, how do I determine the max Qty magnets (number, strength) and coils I can put ? that the 26Nm will effectively run ? Any suggestion (book, etc..) will be greatly appreciated ! Éric

hi, i wish there is a quick magic answer to your question, everything to do with wind turbine requires calculation and testing for best results, even when you know your equations and proper physics understanding, you still do extensive testing for best outcome. to be brief, you have to start from the beginning, Air and Speed interacting with objects, if air is going over a crapy air foil, it will fail to produce any usable power, so i recommend you start by understand efficient air foil and Air Blade Area. "Blade Area" is a term used to calculate air foil power output, but also Blades vary in design, some blades have high torque low RPM and other Blades reply on Low torque and high rpm, i have few links you can start reading, i am not sure if youtube will allow me to post them here. www.bcsd.org/site/handlers/filedownload.ashx?moduleinstanceid=1829&dataid=8957&FileName=wind%20keys%201-3.pdf mmpa.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Swept-Area-Provided-by-Kid-Wind-PDF.pdf web.mit.edu/windenergy/windweek/Presentations/Wind%20Energy%20101.pdf

Why 4 phases instead of just one? Is it to reduce cogging?

That's the scientific way, try something never done before just incase it somehow works better. 3 phase might work. I might make one like this with instead of 4, a 3 strand flat braid/ or dutch weave. Over under over etc. Maybe it will do something? idk.
@MAGATRON-DESTROY10 ай бұрын
@@wssometimesavowel3639I was thinking 3 phase but the way serpentine works is you have the same number of magnets as bends in the serpentine. With regular coils you do a 3/4 coil/magnet ratio so if you have 9 coils (3 per phase) you have 12 magnets per rotor so every 3 coils you have 4 magnets. With these serpentine coils though you have a magnet for every bend and to me it seems like doing 2, 3, or 4 phase connected in Y or delta (one wire of each coil connected or used as neutral and the other wires are the phases) might work better if each coil had a seperate full bridge rectifier. That way the waveforms won't interfere. I don't have a oscilloscope so I don't know for sure but I need to test that out. If you look at how regular coil alternators pass over the magnets you can see how the voltage rises and falls and same with serpentine coils. I'm going to make an alternator with a few sets of serpentine coils with seperate full bridge rectifiers to see how it behaves but my rotors have 12 magnets on each of the two so I'm going to make a 9 coil 3 phase stator as well to see how they compare

how do you calculate the size of the coils?
@emagnets5 жыл бұрын
i first created one loop of serpent coil, i tested it with a bench disc magnets, so based on the open voltage rpm that i want it to be I adjusted the coil count. i did not use a formula on a pc somewhere, because so many variables are in play like: the magnets size, shape and strength, the air gap, the diameter or stator, the coil space efficiency and so on. sam

Sir, I want to make a single phase generator , that give me 500W , Is it possible ?
@emagnets7 жыл бұрын
sure it is possible, but in the video above is meant for 3 phase and it is built to produce high voltage at very low rpm to work with a vawt a vertical axis wind turbine. i suggest the traditional coil set up and not the serpent style.

solar and wind energy is a failure, not good for the environment, is a wasted space and u need to depend on its source which doesn't happen 24/7. magnetic and nuclear energy produces a great deal of energy, very cost effective, doesn't need a acres of land, and its environmentally safer than wind and solar. Spain invested so much in wind and solar but failed miserably. Magnetic and nuclear energy is the future, unless Helium-3 is brought from the moon.
