The main thing I like about this is that ALL forces of Chaos could gain something to motivate them to put more effort into their conquests. Majestic feasts and orgies and all that stuff the hedonites indulge in are breeding grounds not only for depravity, but also for disease. So Nurgle could recieve a power surge from this new age of depravity. Khorne will definitely get going because his main rival not only returned to a certain degree, but crossed a boundary no other god has crossed before. Anarchy and unrest will feed the schemes of Tzeentch and you bet that the rat is going to be mad about one of the old four making their way back. This thing can set so many things in motion just by *existing.*

I think Slasnesh totally planned to use Morathi to escape. But as Morathi's ascension was cut in two, maybe the same happened to Slaanesh? And thus only one part managed to slip away? not to be too sacrilegious (I am a Slaanesh player so of course a little sacrilege is in order) but the whole situation of the newborn reminds me of the birth of christ, in a way Slaanesh is now a trinity. The father is stuck within a prison, the son walks the mortal realms, and the holy spirit is the hedonistic urges within all of us, pushing us to even greater debauchery. It makes me think that the mortal followers of slaanesh are kind of like the three kings of the orient coming to lay gifts at the feet of their god on earth.

So the newborn has got a physical manifestation in the mortal realms? If this is so, this is extremely interesting as before now the gods have always just been warp manifestations and never had a physical body in the realms, maybe this is a way for Slaanesh to rule in the realms. I also think AoS 3.0 might be focused on Chaos but I’d like to see Be’lakor have a big part to play, maybe even usurp Archaon or rise to godhood himself!

In WHFB and AoS, the Chaos Gods can walk into the realms if there is a bigger enough opening. Nearly happened in the End Times when Slaanesh nearly walked into the world from the Vortex. In AoS, Slaanesh is an a sub-realm between Ulgu and Hysh. If Slaanesh's chains are broken, Slaanesh will fall into Ulgu and take it personally. The reason behind could be because the WHFB woirld was saturated with magic and the AoS realms are crystalized magic.

I love Slaanesh and I do think the Newborn will be a big part of at least Broken Realms but I think destruction is getting the focus in AoS 3.0. I think the supplement stories are building up to something big with seemingly every Orruk, Ogor, Grot, and Gargant hearing the thump of Gork and Mork. Gordrakk is marching to destroy a city but I think it'll go beyond that.

what this proves to me that the gods, if they wanted to could create greater, stronger and more varied servants. however they dont do this since it probably (and as stated here) takes out a bigger chunk of their own power and essence. this would probably weaken them a bit too much personally in the great game, a risk they cant take. however seeing how slaaanesh is already in a bad position and is loosing valuable time whilst his brothers feed on the mortal realms, he has nothing big to loose and was willing to commit to this to accelerate his release and then probably re--absorb this avatar.

They are watching and pleasuring themself(s). Now, we’re they to fully get out and the newborn is a bit big for their britches and they don’t seem to get along... the realm will look like Cenobites going to town and the oceans will overflow with blood and... other bodily fluids. I would like If they were to do a "twing god of ececess" narrative with this. Where basicly both is Slaanesh but think and act individualy and both trying to assert dominance over the other. Both loving and hating each other. There are interesting stories you can make with this. If GW would just make it so that "oh. People noticed mini slaanesh over here and killed it, good guys win yay!" that would be the bigest let down I think. You need to make this story line matter and have consiquance.

I know I'm super late here, but my interest in the chaos gods has recently peaked with the release of Total War: Warhammer 3. I had this idea as well (assuming you meant to type "Twin God of Excess" 😉) This would perfectly fit the dual nature of Slaanesh. They would be so powerful together! Both swapping their perceived genders, emotions, and desires on a whim. I love the bit you said about "both loving and hating each other" Perfection. I picture both of them speaking and saying two completely opposite things while still making their point. What a horribly awesome evolution it would be to an already awe inspiring force of Chaos.

Hi. I think that the new born is a part of slannesh. I think the big story will be to stop it from growing to it full potential. Because when it does. One part of a soul will be attracted to the other. Slannesh could be using the new born like a super magnet. To tear him out of the prison. So as the new born grows the strain on the chain holding him will become more and more strained until bang they break and he is pulled straight into the mortal realms. Just an idea that could finally finish the trapped slannesh story ark.

I want the 2nd form of Slaanesh to be its own character as well, a idea i had was, it gets flung and hides then starts to gain power, worshippers, and then enemies will come to take him down. Order figures out the Elves accidentally let a part of Slaanesh out, and eventually the true Slaanesh breaks out devours Elves and becomes the top Chaos God in the Great Game, then he goes to absorb his 2nd form to ascend to top Chaos God permenantly, but his 2nd form doesnt want to be absorbed and believes he is the true Slaanesh, the true Perfect Prince because he escaped and wasn’t shackled, you cant imprison perfection yada yada. So this would plunge the Hedonites of Slaanesh into a civil war and the Alliance of Order might have their own due to the Elves, then destruction and the other Chaos Gods do their thing as well.

Maybe now that there is a newborn out in the world-at-large, there is something that Slaanesh can focus on to slowly move across to inhabit? Like instead of saving up his power to break free of his chains he can slowly just 'shunt' his power across to the newborn and then sort of possess? it and subvert the whole chain thing in the first place. Alternatively, maybe he will use the newborn to break himself out of imprisonment and in that way he can avoid 'owing' Archaon, and I think both of those ideas have large story line ramifications. Speaking of ramifications, I hope there is some sort of one for the aelves at a really high price. If daddy-Slaanesh escapes, I would hope he kills one of the new pantheon. Like proper kills (he's done it many times in the past afterall) - my guess is that it could be Malerion since he still doesn't have a figure (or Tyrion for the same reason). You shouldn't just be able to capture a Chaos *God* without serious consequence imo.

I think you are wrong on the fallout of keeping the prison of Slaanesh secret. Any smart eleven god will easily justify keeping it secret to the rest of the pantheon. If it was public knowledge as you noted the prison would be assaulted non stop. Then most of the gods can just throw Morathi under the bus for letting it out. No one will doubt that she is a fault she was always untrustworthy.

@@2Tough that's what I think the other gods would grasp. The dwarven gods get the idea of practicality and they keep several significant secrets like Ur-gold. Allerial has all sorts of secrets including a dark god she appears to be hiding from the rest of turn when you read Dark Harvest and probably First Mark. Sigmar also has endless secrets and is practical. So I don't think they will care that much that a secret prison isn't disclosed to more than those who needed to know. Morathi will be blamed.

@@I-am-Ranb0 yes it appears that Kurnoth a murderous blood thirsty god is quite alive and is likely to be gathering his strength to overthrow Alleriel who he and his followers consider weak. He manifests I the realms so he isn't a dead god. His whole cult is the focus of Dark Harvest. He is also quite possibly the dark voice that leads the Deadwood Sylvaneth who have a super weapon that kills everything other than Sylvaneth from the book First Mark. He also has followers in Beastgrave. There is some chance he is actually an aspect of Khaine who if you read the new DoK tome is not merged with Morathi. She is still siphoning power from the Iron Heart to keep Khaine from returning.

Honestly AoS fluff are just silly, I am tired of trying to believe how Elf had enough power to lock away slaanesh by them selves(end time BS), but If I was one of 3 other chaos gods or new skaven god, I would done everything I can to steal slaanesh power or completely kills it, there is old saying one mountain is not big enough for 2 tigers, not to mention 4..
