I cruised on Xmas day, on january 1st and now it's getting hotter and I will make at least 15000km, about 10.000 miles this season and my Max has 68.000 km and is in showroom state...all original , carbon, black pipes and the latest set of tires I now have and can advice to every Max rider are AVON Roadrider.....very very sticky tire that can keep you under 3 seconds and make you able to shoot out of the corners like a missile. We must respect the Vmax and it's engineers.......for they really made a perfect bike. Never sell mine either and prices are going up here in Europe. Keep it stock and you have an investment to enjoy. Bless you and your family, you are good people with good vibes. Make sure you get your brakes working properly or get some blue dot dual caliper just for safety.

You helped me make my decision for my new bike. I picked it up last Saturday. Mine is a 2007 vmax 1200 with only 12 000 miles has 4 into one exhaust carbs rejetted and tuned to it. I've wanted one ever since I saw a guy rip through an intersection near my work one night in 1985. I finally bought one last Sunday. It's still pretty cold here, but the day after I bought it, I drove it up and down the street for about 5 mins or less. It was only 44 degrees, so I didn't want to take a chance in slipping, because there is still ice on the ground. It's a 1993 with a new paint job and over 4k in new parts on it. I only paid 4600.00 for it, and it only has 27k miles on it. I CAN'T WAIT TILL SPRING!!!!

I was looking for bolts and fastners with no luck and got real frustrated because I am a collision repair and paint guy. I had to google it!!! To come off with a key blew my mind how easy it was ,and how genius that was.

V-Max is the only motorcycle ever made with V-boost; a system of a butterfly between the front and rear cylinders that causes each other to supercharge the incoming fuel/air mixture adding 28 horsepower. On the dyno, a stock engine produces an actual 122.5 horsepower AT THE REAR TIRE. It is also very thirsty for fuel, getting 22.5 miles per gallon and only has a 4.0 gallon gas tank under the seat. That translates to just 60 miles for a ride before you are seriously looking for fuel. What you think is the gas tank is just the cover for the air cleaner feeding those 4 hungry carbs

Vmax rules. This one is a pretty old one with the old front brakes. To loud for my taste but the sound is so hot. Nice to watch you having fun with it. I have a 95 model, pretty much original and a 2015 carbon edition. I can't think of any other bike that feels so "complete" and satisfying.

My love for the vmax grew instantly after this full throttle video can't believe how strong the old vmax is definitely quick enough to still beat some of today's motorcycles. And extremely reliable!

If you want to feel complete and satisfied, try a 2010 Honda VFR 1200F which is 170 HP at the engine and 152HP at the rear tire. VFR stands for Vee Four Racing and although it weighs 605lbs it REALLY knows how to git. I have had a '94 V-Max and currently have a VFR and a CB1100.

On my V Star, I'd pull the choke all the way out and it'd fire right up. If I tried to work the choke myself after that it wouldn't idle right. BUT.. if I didn't touch the choke, it would come in gradually on it's own and the bike never "loped" and was ready to ride when the RPM's came down. The whole process only took about 1 minute.

Hey boss. Loved my 04 Gen 1. No disrespect, but if you can, sell both Gen 1’s and buy a Gen 2. I believe that Yamaha actually used the 1200 V-4 as a starter for 180+hp 1700 V-4. After owning the Gen 2, Gen 1’s are good starter bikes. I think most Gen 2 owners will agree! Keep up the videos, so glad to see young people enjoying the Legend. 👍

If your Vmax is stock, then I have a secret to unlock the 120hp to the wheel at 3000rpm and up instead of having to wait for the boost at 6000rpm. You can easily set it back to stock settings if you don't like the setting. It saved me 100s of dollars instead of paying for a Tboost harness to have all the power from the Get go. Hmu if your interested. A Vmax veteran showed me this trick. This also works if your Vboost harness is starting to crap out on you. It takes about 10 minutes to do.

I had to remove the front fender because my fork seals are leaking and I don't want the fluid to mess up the custom paint I'll re install the fender after I replaced the fork seals.
