Wat if it was their decision to keep one in the bag by the bed? Wat if he jus forgot to take it with him? Wat if he asked her to move it on his way out & she jus forgot too? Wat if they both paid more attention to the possibilities and whats really important? His sentence is losing a life behind his own mistake. His life sentence is waking up everyday looking at his children, reminiscent of his girlfriend, what could have prevented this tragedy. His son will be labeled a murder at the age of 2 years old, he will be blamed for the death of his girlfriend, family members looking at him and the babies with a deep concern. His life now is heartbreaking plus with a jail sentence is not going to help this family at all. This was clearly a case of irresponsible 🔫 owners not properly storing away fire arms especially around children. He was not the killer, he did not commit a murder. His sentence is having to live with this for the rest of his life. 🔫's was never about building but always about destruction. The mind is ten times stronger than any weapon utilized.

This is why I’m a proponent of teaching firearm safety to kid’s in schools nationwide. They have gun safety interactive programs with cartoons etc; available, but they aren’t used in schools in mass………Why? Teach it like “stranger danger”, but in this case, show scenarios of what to do if a child finds a firearm (STOP, GO GET AN ADULT!!!). As kids get older you can advance the teachings with firearm safety, hunting, and the impact of taking a life (pictures of victims, funerals etc ;). Most teens and young kids think guns are for play (videogames, internet, movies)….THEY’RE NOT!!!! If firearm safety isn’t taught in a safe and educational way (school, hunting), I would keep my kid away from them all together (NO toys, games, movies ANYTHING involving guns). Lastly, a long prison sentence is counterproductive if this young man had no record, and is a good father. If he was/is involved in anything reckless, I hope this ordeal affects him to make a change in his life.

@@vernievuitton ok and what if the kid shot itself? It’s alright to have a different opinion so lemme start by saying I got no bad blood with your opinion just having a little debate because my opinion is a little different, but anyways the way I see it the kid killed his mom and could’ve taken itself out this is because he improperly stored the weapon he placed it somewhere his small curious child couldn’t find and use it, if he would’ve put it up high or even just hidden somewhere the kid won’t look this wouldn’t have happened kids having accidents with guns is more common than it should be so I feel someone needs to be held accountable when it happens so that people will stop allowing these things to happen, it’s very evident that kids don’t understand what guns really do or what it really means to die we can’t hold a 2 year old accountable for that.

@@itskubi2491 No ones saying hold the kid accountable. Mistakes and freak accidents happen, and this was a freak accident. Nobody intended the child to end up with the gun and nobody intended for the mother to be shot in the head. So why put the blame on the father who wasn't even there? Like I said, if there's an articulable crime then charge him, which in this case was a misdemeanor. But to charge the father for murder is as ridiculous as charging the 2 year old son for murder.

An unfortunate tragedy. My condolences to this beautiful mother's family and loved ones. May she rest in peace. 👑🙏🏾🕊 PSA...If you're going to exercise your 2nd Amendment right, please be a responsible gun owner.A gun should never be within reach or even sight of a child, especially a child that's not even old enough to differentiate a real gun from a toy gun.
