The Hyundai Veloster is interesting - and that's an understatement. This in depth video review of the car shows the hardships of modifying one of these cars however. Expensive parts, low visibility, and a few other things. The car though, does has A TON of personality and makes a lot of fun sounds. The turbo motor is nothing short than talkative. Thanks for watching!

Pretty crazy how little things can hurt your wallet with a car like this.

How you modify a car and then complain about reliability.

I am an owner of the 2012 non turbo Veloster. I bought it preowned and I do agree that this is a fun to drive car. It had a little over 40K miles and now it has a little over 86K miles. I have driven it from Georgia to Delaware, New Jersey, Florida and Tennessee and back. It drove very good. They only down fall that I could see is when my battery went out on my in North Carolina and I had to purchase a new one. They car did not give me any type of warnings like my former vehicles about my battery having low issues. No battery light came on. Also, I had to get my hatchback hydrolics fixed due to leaks and squeaks, a motor mount and a replacement stereo speakers for the DS front and PS door speaker. They both went out at 2 separate times BUT the good thing about it was the repair was taken care of. Over $1,500 in repair and I had a maxcare plan on it and it was all repaired with no extra charge. That was a blessing! They only thing I did not understand is why did it need new hydrolics for the hatch door and motor mounts when the care had less than 100k miles. My other preowned vehicles did not need these things until they were pushing 200k miles. This car does move well. There has been times when I had to catch myself from riding 100mph. It handles curves well and it does have excellent brake stopping power. I don't like the fact that you can feel every bump when you hit one on the road. My drive in NJ where their roads are bad due to the salt intake in the winter months leave a lot of damage on the roads. The ride was NOT smooth at all. I was glad when I left that area. I was shocked when I took my car to Hyundai and had my alignment done and my alignment was not out of wack too bad. My daughter hates driving my car because it scares her due to the quick stopping power. I always tell her it is better to stop quick than to keep going and stop(Crash). I do find that the ECO is good on gas and it drives just like a manual transmission but when I go on road trips if I remember I turn it off to maximize the drive. The Veloster is a fun car to drive and I say make sure you use a good quality gas additive to keep your fuel injectors clean, Stay on top of your OLF changes, Be mindful of your tires wear and tear, and keep up with your vehicles maintenance plan and have an extended service plan on your vehicle. Also, the back trunk is very roomy when the seats are down. You can fit a lot back there. I have 3 large dogs and they fit back area comfortably both standing and lying down positions. Thanks for stepping up your game Hyundai and keep up the Good Work!!

Proud owner of a 2013 VT with 200k + miles. Not one issue with it. I bought the Enkie Rajin rims about 3yrs ago and it just made the car that much more fun to drive. 😎

Always thought the Veloster needed another 50-60 HP given how aggressive it looks.

I always liked how these looked. I wish they had the Genesis powertrain and drivetrain options.

I would like to see the Hyundai i30n make its way to the US. The Veloster made me think of a watered down version of the i20 WRC a little, being a 1.6 liter turbo hatch and all.

I enjoy my 2016 Hyundai Velsoter turbo. It drives smooth like you said in the video, I enjoy this car as a daily driver. It is always cool to tell people about its three doors. The car is really practical, the truck space is really good, I am 6 foot 1 inches and I can sit in the trunk just fine. Fun car to drive.

Just a tidbit! Veloster owner here. The third door was an attempt to make easier access to backseat space while parallel parking! It was meant to appeal to college students and crowded city areas

Love the Veloster. More hp than frs, better daily. My 4 year old daughter fits great in the back and with the door it’s a lifesaver. Perfect for daily Dad.

Great video, we bought my son a non-turbo 1.6 2013 Veloster and we love it. It's an automatic and rite away people are like dog . but with the dual clutch design trans and paddle shifters its surprisingly snappy with traction control off sport mode on. Its just a fun car
