3.0T Can Auto Performance Non-Resonated Midpipes Install on my C7 A6!

Our friends at Can Auto Performance sent us a BEAUTIFUL set of their Non-Resonated 3.0T Midpipes to install on the car. These will be replacing my Cende Resonated Midpipes which have started cracking at the welds on the resonators. This DIY will show you how you can install these at home in your own garage. As long as you have the right combination of extensions you should have no problems doing this. Just be very careful that you don't strip the nuts holding your current midpipes to your Catalytic Converters/Test Pipes.

Hi. Regards from Brazil! I have an Audi A6 C7 Congrats for the Channel, greats contents! My car broked Supercharger pump aditional and I bought a supercharger pump CWA 50 but with 4 pins and original is 3 pin. Is possible to conect? I have not sucess yet.

I just cut off the resonators and welded a true X pipe as close as I could before they bend up. Helps rasp, provides some good scavenging and pulse equalization. Makes the SQ5 sound deeper.

I'd have to see what it looks like coming out of your car. But with test pipes you are definitely going to have more smoke from burning carbon come out and that should look like a gray smoke. If you have blue smoke coming out that is typically burnt oil and if it is a white smoke then you might be burning coolant somewhere. It could also potentially be condensation burning off in the exhaust system as well.

How do gut your stock cats? I’m in car hell of Cali ,so would love to have test pipes but switching those out every 2 years for smog test is a pain. Also any other work needed so check engines don’t come on if i gut them?

I believe you have to remove the cats to gut them, and make sure to reinforce the welds before putting them back on once they're gutted. You can use o2 sensor spacers for the check engine light.

Hello. Great page. Thanks for sharing. I've got a 2014 A7 with the following: IE intake, APR stage 2 dual pulley, APR Coils, Mercracing HX, CAP test and downpipes. Loving it so far but with the OEM cat backs, the rasp and drone is almost unbearable. Do you know if I install AWE cat backs, the rasp will be eliminated? I was told the CAP test and downs were of higher quality than the JHM but the JHM would mask the rasp. I can't find anyone online with the CAP to AWE setup for reference. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks, -JH

The rasp will still be there. CAP makes the best test pipes on the market. You need to install vibrant resonators on your downpipes. That will control the rasp

No. Rear muffler demeter will just make everything louder. You need something on the mid pipes to control rasp if you are catless like a Gibson 55106s or vibrant resonators.

With you experience would you upgrade the test pipes and downpipes ? I’m trying to figure out what’s best. I know the downpipes are very known for breaking at the flex pipe. Have you changed your test pipes to help reduce heat ? Or what has been your experience with it.

Test pipes are a must to preserve the health of your engine long term. After that you probably want to modify the mid pipes to control rasp from going catless

The flex pipes are bound to break at one point or another, so if you're buying from CAP and you're considering the mid-pipes you might as well get the testpipe/midpipe combo they have as it's the most cost effective

You can run 02 spacers. Talk to your local vw/audi group to see if you can find any local help.

@@mfauu chambered test pipes are snake oil. They won't eliminate rasp, and the welds will fail. Control rasp on the mid pipes with vibrant ultra quiet resonators or a Gibson 55106s/55105s

It's a 6 cylinder... Deep isn't in the cards. And you might want to watch my video on why you need to get rid of your cats
