Good morning, Quick question. I was able to ping between PC-A and PC-C when it did not work for you. Did I do something incorrect?

I noticed at the 4:30 area when setting RIPv2 on R2. You did not use the "passive-interface" commands as you did on R1&R3. Do we not need to do "passive-interface s0/0/0" and "passive-interface s0/0/1" commands?
@TechAcad
@TechAcad 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Thanks for your great support. Passive-interface is used to avoid sending dynamic routing update to any area specially LAN. This updates only needed router to router.
@Shannxy
@Shannxy 4 жыл бұрын
@Sony Milk Yes and no, you need to use the command on R1 and R3 to prevent unecessesary routing advertisment to be sent to the switches. You should definitely not write "passive-interface s0/0/0" on R2 as it would prevent the entire purpose of RIP, because it would prevent R2 to share information with R1
