What's the neck profile and fret radius? I have small hands and short stubby fingers, I think a 9.25 radius fretboard with a flat neck would probably works best for me. But I still have to play it to really know. I may end up having to get one custom made before I can ever advance

Hi. Manufacturers use either vintage 7.25" radius or 9.5", with more modern necks being 12" and 14". This refers to the top of the frets and makes playing very different. It would not have any bearing on the neck "size" as in the width or profile of the back. I think it is more a case of learning to work with the instrument rather than thinking there is a neck that "fits" your hands. I have small hands (I am 5'5" tall) but will adjust to any neck size by altering my playing style slightly. I would suggest buying something and giving it a try for 6 months, if you really cannot get to grips you can always sell it on.

Why don't you tune the guitar before you try playing it? The guitar is grossly out of tune!

Thanks! (I'm a drummer BTW, and it was driving me crazy!)

I'm usually not bothered by being a bit out of tune, but my god how do you not stop and tune when it's that out lmao

I have a hereditary problem as my body destroys calluses, and by that I mean we (my family) don't get them. They start to form then go to bed to wake up with them 90-100% gone. It gets so bad that when I try to practise it feels like I am playing on razor blades and immediately have to stop. So much pain I am seven months in, and you wouldn't know that I wasn't in my first week. I play 10s, and I wonder if 8s would help at all? If the 8s I have on order (arrives in a couple to three weeks) don't work out would a 3/4 help? Hand size is 6.75in wrist to the longest fingertip, and hand spread is tip of pinky to tip of thumb is 8 inches if I really stretch out to the point of almost hurting. Thank you.

Hi, playing a smaller guitar will not aid the problem as the string gauge will be the same or even slightly heavier due to the shorter scale length, it would only make the reach a little easier, but on the flip side there is less room on the fingerboard for finger placement. I cannot see this as a solution to your problem. Regards Graham

@@grahamcook6351 Well, that just sucks. Thanks for your help.

Crazy thought. But what if you put something over your fingers? Similar to tony iommi of black sabbath.
@generalawareness1013 жыл бұрын
@@cameronmurphy5850 I was thinking of doing that. I purchased a Squire Bullet Mustang and so damn much easier to play. I still have pain though but Arthritis, CTS run in my family. The thinner neck, and the 12in radius really does help. Not as thin as the two Ibanez I had, or the larger radiuses of them, but it is only 24 inches. Where I had a hell of a time with the stretch this makes it a tad easier. Stupid simple would be the 3/4, but they are a pita to keep in tune AND you need 13s on them, so that would be back to my original problem again only the stretch factor would be crazy simple.

Do you still stock the SX guitar
@BadlandsGuitars2 жыл бұрын
At the date of this posting we are awaiting new stock as sadly imports are difficult in these troubled times, but they are on order and will appear on our website and socials once they arrive. Regards Graham.
