Only 28 starters at Le Mans too, compared to 55 and 49 in 1989 and 1990.

It cannot be understated how influential the XJR-14 was to the other cars. Mainly it's two-tier rear wing in which the bottom element served as an extension of the rear diffuser to create massive downforce. At Le Mans, although it was never intended to actually enter the race, the Jaguar did undergo technical inspection and drew the biggest crowd with some spies for the other team trying to sneak a shot of the Jaguar's floor design. After the technical inspection, the XJR-14 was allowed to qualify with the incentive that if it got pole position, it would be allowed to take to the green flag. Although it did good enough to grid up in the front row, it only was able to get the 2nd fastest qualifying time and thus the team didn't allow it to start. After Le Mans, Peugeot would essentially redesign their entire car in an effort to copy the XJR-14's design principles. By season's end, Peugeot arguably had the faster car, but it was too late in the season to catch up to the Jaguar team in points. Sauber-Mercedes would also copy the two-tier wing for the C292, but they withdrew from the SWC. The Toyota TS010 also had the two-tier wing design. After winning the '91 championship, the Jaguar team would also show up for the last round in the JSPC where it would dominate the race. The '92 IMSA season wasn't as successful, but it was able to take a couple of wins over the AAR-Toyota Eagle MkIII which was a beast in its own right. For a car that saw no real development since the middle of the '91 SWC season, it's pretty impressive that it would go down as the only car (other than the Nissan that ran in its own category) to actually win a race over the Eagle MkIII.

No Nissan NP35🥲although it's not successfully Why these late-Gr.C cars all have very incredible RPM(>10000)?.......'cause 3.5L not allow any turbo? I very like to listen Gr.C cars running sound, 3.5L seems like Mazda 767/787 rotary, shrill but pleasent😂

Great video and storytelling however the part about the Mazda being ban is not true I recommend you search this up its interesting how it came to be.

Mazda was never banned from Le Mans. The 787B became *obsolete* after the FIA changed regulations for Group C. The rotary powerplant was not allowed to be used anymore in Group C. Thus, the engine was banned from the class after 1991! The common misconception a lot of people say is that the "787B was banned from Le Mans." *Rotary was never banned from Le Mans, it was banned from Group C.* The new 3.5-liter engine that Mazda sourced from Judd wouldn't fit in the 787B. So, they were forced to use a Jaguar XJR-14 shell, called the MXR-01.
