The Pescarolo had no Hybrid Technology. It was a LMP900 car which was allowed to Race under the new LMP1 rules.
@christheradar23 күн бұрын
You're incorrect. The Pescarolo C60 did have a hybrid technology in 2005. Check the 2005 24 hours of Le Mans race results. It finished 2nd place.
@davegx1323 күн бұрын
@@christheradar but what does Hybrid mean? For my understanding it was the car was slighlty modified to run longer. Like the Alpine LMP1 which drove under Hypercar Rules. I didn't have any electric engine.
@christheradar23 күн бұрын
@davegx13 The term "hybrid car" means that it's powered by a gas engine and electric motors, which uses energy from the batteries. Understand?
@davegx1323 күн бұрын
@@christheradar correct. But I couldn t find an information that the C60 Hybrid was using an electric engine. For this car it was just a name.
@davidtoback242423 күн бұрын
@@christheradar You're incorrect, in that era the term hybrid meant that it was an LMP900 adapted to the new at the time LMP1 rules. The C60 did not have any electric motors.

A real shame that Corvette's stopped being made in 2019 with the C7. I wonder what they would be like if they had remained in production.
4:14 You're talking about Ferrari, but you're wrong, this timestamp shows their main competitor from Maserati🔱, 1957 450S. 😉

this was the biggest injustice in racing ive ever seen. i will never stop being upset about the fia changing the fucking rules randomly after these manufactures already made their cars. also a huge what if.

They are not entirely different. The two versions of the Bentley Speed 8's predicessor the "EXP Speed 8" cars were built alongside the Audi R8s at the workshops of Racing Technology Norfolk, in those days owned by Audi. Bentley had contested the 2001, 2002 Le Mans 24 Hour but it was when Bentley dumped the EXP Speed 8 at the end of 2002 and shacked up with Richard Lloyd's Audi Sport UK company which harnessed all the help of Audi and VW with the basis of 1999 Audi Coupe Audi R8C. Chief designer was Peter Elleray and operations for the car were handled by veteran endurance racing driver Richard Lloyd's Audi Sport UK, operating under the title of Team Bentley. They used different transmissions, suspension systems and X-Track but the power train and chassis were shared between the cars and Bentley had access to Audi's aero wind tunnel development for the Audi R8C so to claim that they are ostensibly different cars is itself untrue as they were not entirely different cars.

The 850M didnt give birth to the S70 engine, the McLaren F1 projects did. The S70 found its way in other cars after being conceived exclusively for the F1. The M70 block is the only piece of the M70 that was used for the S70/2 & 3. There was an upgraded version of the M70 that was tested for the 850M but that was not the S70, it simply an upgraded M70. There was no S70 prior to the F1's engine development. Paul Rosche (Head BMW engine designer at the time) originally developed the S70 because the modified M70 he presented to Gordon Murray for the F1 was totally wrong in weight, size, and performance. He later went on to redesign the head, internals, and exhaust to match Murray's F1 requirements. The S70 (and adaptations of it) were utilized /or tested in the LMP car, BMW X5, and others.
