Speaking English is a clue that they probably know tourists can afford a few dollars more if they're from Canada, USA, Switzerland, Norway, Japan, and Korea. All of these countries are expensive to live in no matter where you go in that region.

I live in Seattle and I have lived in Taiwan for 15 years of my life. It is impossible for you to walk home with a empty stomach. Also part of Taiwan culture is to help the poor. In some restraunts people can pre pay meals for the homeless. It is usually written ouside on a eraceable board on how many meals are payed.

Keith has a thing w his tongue which affected his ability to handle certain tastes so I think trying lots of adventurous foods can be difficult for him. But Ye w Andrew you’ve got a white guy who has no issue w asian foods that are considered acquired tastes like red bean n such which isn’t common. Western People like asian food when it’s made popular and made for a western audience but won’t necessarily like it when it’s made to cater specifically to the local asian taste pallate.

that's my grandma when she was still with us, you will get assaulted with food in the best way possible. she was awesome, i feel bad that my mom and i never asked her to teach us her recipes, i can't recreate her steamed pork pancake (i'm not sure the english name), it doesn't taste the same. both of my grandparents were amazing cooks, value your elders' talents, i didn't realize what amazing people they were till they passed.

janice jtj wagyu beef isn’t just luxury, but it also includes flavours and textures that no others posses. Whilst things like gold leaf and truffle is pure novelty, and removing it would probably not do any harm to the dish tbh. But ye, who’d want to shat gold everyday anyways so

Because they are two different phrases, even though they may look similar; "Eating while drinking" means drinking is the main activity and eating is not. "Drinking while eating" means eating is the main activity and drinking is not.

“Why would you give up something that’s so comfortable?” That quote got to me. Sometimes we’re shamed for the things that bring “comfort to our souls”. I’m sure there’s a billion pillows more comfortable than the one he has, but that one brings joy and comfort him. This life is already hard and depressing enough to leave the things that give us that comfy feeling inside. Don’t give up what makes you happy. Keep the pillow 💖

Exactly lol. My parents overdosed last year and i still have AND sleep with the two stuffed animals from them and my body pillow from them lol.. Its all lumpy and fucked but.. I wash it all the time but it bring me so much comfort even tho its lumpy and squis hed lo. I lost both my parents very suddenly when i was 18 and these things are like all i have left. I have PTSD and bi polar and have bad night terrors and it helps me feel less alone

I’m Taiwanese, we do have restaurants that give out free food like the rice with meat. Some restaurants also provides appetizers and boba . So this kind of thing does exist but not every restaurant does this.

If you are in Taichung, DingWang hot pot give you free soup when you tell the restaurant you want to pack the leftovers. There are also ramen restaurants offers extra noodles for free, can't believe you never experience that!

I live in Taipei, Taiwan. Most hot pot restaurants do this, but the more expensive restaurants usually don't. Besides the pork rice, you can also enjoy unlimited ice cream and drink inside the place.

Blackground Music Taiwanese food are usually affordable btw most of us are poor but we love food so we have a lot of street food/restaurants that serve low price meals. You can still find pricy food in hotels and fancy restaurants, but they are less authentic.
