If it wasn't clear enough in the video, I'm extremely humbled by your support. Your kind words and interactions have especially encouraged me over the years. I've seen the comments and talked to many of you in person about it. I just wanted to share my art. What I never expected was how my art could inspire so many. It's really more than I can ask for. Thank you SerpaSquad for 10 years! Here's to the next 10 and beyond. I'm only just getting started and can't wait to show you what I've been working on.

This channel feels so safe and welcoming. It’s one of the only channels I’ve found where it doesn’t seem like that animals and plants are just products to sell or display. Your love for this art form is contagious, and I seriously enjoy making terrariums as a hobby now :)))

I’ve noticed that too. The way he stets up his builds is always fitting for the animal and has a lot of enrichment. Other KZbinrs let they’re animals live in small plastic containers, which is just heartbreaking.

Your channel and you have been my inspiration for several years. I am an avid gardener and animal keeper. I am a retired librarian, farmer, teacher and parent. I also am challenged by depression. I am approaching 80 and as my stamina and strength decline due to aging I have found terrariums to be my direction in gardening. Thank you for sharing your gifts, vision and taught us your skills. Wisdom from an older person: we carry all the persons and ages we've been with us always. I'm 70 but sometimes I feel inside like that young girl going camping with my Girl Scout troop, that teenage hippie chick, that scared brand new mother, the newly divorced woman living alone for the first time ever, the woman who traveled in an RV to find a new place to live, the woman who did good work and is now retired. I will carry all those girls and women with me forever and add them to the woman I will be as I age. So don't be surprised that you remember those experiences and lessons clearly, they are you! Thank you for sharing your journey, I enjoyed it, just as I enjoy all your project videos. I always appreciate the love you feel for your animals.

You’re not a mere creator. You’re a muse. You’re a teacher. You’re a coach. You’re a facilitator. You’re a steward. You’re a friend to many seeking purpose beyond the material trappings of modern life. And that’s not an overstatement - inspiring people to connect with nature in ways that fulfill our souls is meaningful. You have planted a seed that has grown beyond anything you can probably appreciate. Congrats on an amazing 10…

You should make a dirt only terrarium and see what grows. It's so fast and easy and takes no effort. Just put dirt in a jar, add some water, close it up and watch stuff grow after a while. Use dirt from a garden or forest.

This video hit me where I live. I am completely in the same place you mention at the beginning, stuck in a hole of not knowing what to do or where to go, and I'm in my early 50's so it doesn't bode well. I just wanted to say thank you for all your hard and courage to keep going. I only found your channel last year after inheriting my son's 7 year old crested gecko and needing to do research on it providing the best care for her. We love her so much and she is just so intelligent and personable. Although our tank setup is nothing like the wonderous creations you have made, it is inspired by what you have done and is fully bio-active which she seems to love. The down side (according to my husband) is my new obsession with a tank fully dedicated to my growing isopods.😂

Someone else said it already: your builds are centered around the animal's needs AND beautiful. So many creators just scape something for the artsy aspect and then drop animals inside to compliment their design (e. g. sparsly planted tanks and then drop a betta fish in - they need places to hide and hate bright light!). I love your creativity, your love and care for your animals, and I admire what you and your wife did overcome. Can't have been easy to work yourself to exhaustion! I don't have any fish tank, terrarium etc. I don't want one. But I am a creative person and I absolutely love how you bring nature to live and I love watching your videos because of the passion you show for your craft. That's what keeps me coming back to your channel. And this video was very inspiring. Thank you for your dedication. Good job - well done!

Hey, Tanner! I know this was uploaded a month ago, but I'm just now watching it (at 12:40 in the morning lol) and it's really touching. Hearing your story makes me feel both incredibly proud of you, and somewhat small in the light of your achievements. Thanks to you I began making my own terrariums and growing succulents after COVID hit (most failed, but that's my fault). Thanks to you, I set up my 10 gallon aquarium at the end of last June, which has been equally a cure and an aggressor for my depression - at one point I lost almost twenty fish and all my shrimp, over the course of months, to a systemic bacterial infection. That happened while my grandma suddenly became ill, and a month later when she passed away, from Stage IV cancer... you can imagine my distress. But now it's in a place that is much better. I have a lovely betta named Feldspar, a school of glowlight tetras, a school of Venezuelan pygmy corys and a bunch of inverts. The tank has so many plants in it that algae barely grows anymore, and despite a few deaths (mainly among my shrimp), things are looking up. It'll be a year in exactly one month. Looking forward to it. Anyway, this is long. All of that is to say - thank you, so much, for everything you do. I might have never entered my favorite hobby if it wasn't for your videos, your relaxing and informative delivery, your animal rooms and scapes. You are a professional, one of the best I know of, but beyond that you're an amazing human being. (Also, you talked about trusting in God a few times. Don't know if this applies, but I'm religious myself - Jehovah's Witness - and was baptized in March. Surely you know already, but I'm sure he answered your prayers. I've been recommending your channel to friends in my congregation, too. Sending you love!)

You’ve gotten through the good and the bad and still keep going it’s so inspiring I love watching people share their passion with the world and I saw it even back then. Great job Tanner!

I've only gotten back to aquariums/terrariums/aquascaping for almost 2 years now and I always look to you for inspiration and fun videos. And, after seeing how hard you have worked, I gotta hand it to you...Wow! But I have to say, your wife is also the hero in this story, standing by you and supporting you when you worked 80 hrs. a week and had no recreational life. She must be the best! Blessings always to you both!

I subscribed to you about 7 years ago now (I think) and have watched nearly every video including your painting ones. Dude, you have always done such a good job and please don't underestimate your influence! You were literally known as THE moss guy and greatly influenced the popularity of moss and terrariums. Hearing you tell your story is amazing and it's clear God blessed you with this opportunity. You followed the right path and positively affected all your viewers, I've had so many long days and bad periods in my life and watching your videos gave me rest stops and helped me get through those tough times. Can't believe it's been 10 years now, congratulations and I wish you all the best. Thank you for being you and I will always be a subscriber

I really enjoy seeing snippets of what goes on behind the scenes because it really does show, that no ones life is in any way perfect. This video was more than just a story of your channel but it shared a way to look at life. Work hard, have hope, and enjoy every day that comes along. I think part of the reason that your videos are so amazing is that you don't try to emphasize anything, you let the videos speak for themselves. You present us with mind-blowing camera shots, fascinating designs, and tie each video together with a simple, yet impactful narration. You are the only youtuber that I can watch video after video without ever getting bored. I have been subscribed for a long time now, and have never got tired watching your content. Thanks so much for all the videos you have made and will continue to make!

I found your channel in 2020. Seeing how you started and never gave up is very inspiring. I’m in a rut. I got everything I needed to start my own business but am terrified to advertise it. I don’t know exactly why. Fear of failure? Being shy? Thinking people will think I’m nuts? Imposter syndrome?? Anyway, your journey to where you are now is very inspiring. I’m not a spring chicken anymore and still struggle reaching my full potential due to fear self doubt. You did the damn thing!! Keep going! Keeps inspiring!! You are a perfect example that if you work hard and believe in yourself success will come!! Thank you for everything you do! Now it’s time for me to dig deep and launch my business.

I can't believe I have watched for... almost since 2017? You have helped me through depression and all kinds of other mental health dips. I wouldn't have ever thought I'd be able to keep reptiles or vivariums, which are a huge passion of mine, but today I have a Veiled Chameleon and multiple jar terrariums in my window. It's not a lot, but its enough. My quality of life has really improved and your channel helped me get here. 🌿🙏

Tanner is my favorite KZbin content creator and a huge personal inpiration. I am extremely sensitive to poor quality videos with unstabilized cameras and SerpaDesign has been the one channel that is relaxing, honest and high quality. As a biologist, I think this channel has actually influenced my interest in ecology with emphisis on including natural artforms in the places we live. My hope is that sustainable ecosystem-based art becomes more and more common as an integral part of our lives. I think this emphisis on sustainability in this video is wonderful and I hope that Tanner can take the time he needs to be healthy.

This made me feel very melancholy. It’s fantastic to see someone doing so well and knowing what they’re supposed to be doing with their life, and being rewarded for that. Especially as someone who also battles depression, seeing others who have beat the loneliness and have found a way forward always makes me glad. I just wish I had the same certainty. I’ve spent the last ten years wasting away to a shell of what I used to be. Every day is a horrible grind of pain and loneliness and unfulfilling experiences. I focused on all the wrong things and used what time I did have incorrectly, giving away to other people but never for myself. I don’t want to make you feel bad or anything, it just makes me think. And I’m sincerely happy that you’ve come so far. I remember watching your first videos and they really helped me get into terrariums and plants when I was just looking for a peaceful hobby somewhat associated with the aquariums I used to love but could no longer keep. Without your videos I wouldn’t have had a clue where to even start! And I’ve watched every single video since then. You’re a big inspiration and the universe obviously knew we needed you and gave you a sign to stick with it. And now you’re here.
