Marlin 1895 Trapper is by far my favorite rifle... such a sexy piece of ART
@3wheelmannc8602 жыл бұрын
This is a fantastic offering by Ruger's leadership while continuing an American tradition. Quality is back. I hope to add one to my collection. Options for upgrade/taste I would like to to see: a top quality polymer offering for the stock and for-end to save a little weight and add some durability and a few M-Lock options. Keep the tradional layout by all means, but options are a good thing.

A custom version line would be nice with options of wood and finishes. From base grade to AAA grade. Beautiful rifle that needed no change in overall design. Only refinement of building quality. A testament to original design. Mine is a 1972 vintage model 95 Marlin and has performed flawlessly for at present 50 years.

As the owner of both a late Remington Marlin SBL and a Ruger Marlin SBL I will say they are both the best lever actions ever. The new Ruger built Marlin is beautiful machining inside and out and both are very accurate rifles. I am looking forward to the next model release and I hope Ruger can increase the production numbers. The SBL was already in huge demand before the new Marlin SBL released and now the collectibility of the first rifles has driven prices too high for most. Maybe a wood and blue 336 and a 336S next! In .35 Remington please!

@@ULFISHGETTER 1895SBL with a standard barrel length and a shorter Trapper length, otherwise essentially identical. We need 1894 models, we need 336 models. I could always just go to the Marlin copycat, the Henry. Or spend 1400 coin on a Japanese Winchester (which I like very much). Maybe I should just throw down on a 1886 in .45-90 and be done with it. Hahaha

@@exothermal.sprocket I’m drooling over a new marlin 336 stainless with a walnut stock. I’d be first in line for one. I wanted an SBL but although I have the money. I’m not dumb enough to give into these gunshop and distributors greed. Henry is sketch to me. They copy everyone and call it their own. They introduced side gates and everyone acted like it was the best thing since sliced bread. They threaded a barrel on a synthetic 30-30 and charged 1200 for it. They also straight up copied the blr and call it the long ranger while also profiting off a name that’s iconic in the lever action world. Although they have no relation to that name. I’ll stick with Winchester and marlin. I just wish marlin would crank out more models so the market could stabilize.

The Marlins have always been butter smooth. I have an 1895 Classic in 45-70 and an 1894 in .44 mag. I hope the Rugers are better as they cost twice as much these days. One thing I don’t especially like is that threaded barrel being longer than the magazine!! Just looks strange in my opinion!! The barrel and magazine tube are suppose to be the same length on a Marlin lever gun. Yes the extension on the Ruger Marlin on the end of the barrel is supposed to be thread protector, but it still doesn’t look right!! Like a buck-toothed Marlin!! I believe Remington made Marlin look like Marlin!! Ruger makes a Marlin look like a Marlin-Ruger “Hybrid” again this is just my opinion and this is all style talk not performance!!
@JamesWilliams-cc1ow2 жыл бұрын
Except that Marlin has over the years made many rifles, especially those with longer barrels, but also short, with magazine tubes much shorter than the barrel. Some examples, the straight stocked 1895G, 336 Sporting Carbine, 336/1895XLR, 1895 .410, 336A, 336A-DL and others. So it seems JM does not agree with you. Yes, those were JMs, I own a few.
@kevinrollman31012 жыл бұрын
@@JamesWilliams-cc1ow you are right like the guide models having only 4 rounds instead of six because the magazine is shorter to make it lighter. I do not dislike JM models. I just wish so many people hadn’t of unfairly mis judged the Remington made Marlins. I own an 1895 CB 45-70 with the 18.5” barrel and it is a wonderful rifle.
