Hi Lauren! I can personally vouch for the idea that trusting your ear really works. A neighbor of mine invited me over to his house one time and told me to bring my guitar. Quite honestly, I panicked because I'm not really skilled enough to be able to perform. What he did turned out to be a fantastic learning experience for me. He played about ten songs (the original recordings) for me and asked me to play along to the best of my ability. I had never heard most of them before but he encouraged me to find the melodies just by "feeling" how the notes were going (in other words, training my ear). By about the third song, I found -- much to my amazement -- that I was actually able to do it!

Greetings I love your KZbin segments and I'm very interested in your course..I have a question. if I enroll on your course and you have songs such as I see in your lessons can I get a printable song with the chords included? I hang out with a group of people that meet twice a month and play whatever anyone contributes. Most have UG and I believe the info can be modified but I don't have your songs and your chords.
@LaurenBateman Жыл бұрын
Hi Chuck, it's illegal to provide printable sheet music under copyright. My courses do not offer sheet music for copywritten music, only songs in the public domain. The course teaches you all the specific techniques needed to play songs and I make suggestions as to what songs on my KZbin channel might be suitable.

Your methods are an absoute gamechanger. I started learnig two moths ago and kept forming the chords one finger at a time which ofcourse meant messy chord switches. Started the finger pushups 4 days ago and its been the biggest help already. I see significant improvements in forming chord shapes and switching between them while playing. Its been so useful i've made it a part of my daily warmup and intend to keep it that way. Thank you, you're one of the best teachers so glad I came across your channel!!

These videos are helping me so much and make me feel more confident in my playing (even though I sound terrible right now haha). In just two weeks of doing the exercises and chord videos my playing has improved a lot and I always try to fit playing time into my busy day so I can improve even more. I had a previous instructor who had 2 degrees in music, but not the understanding and patience and expected me to already be playing due to me having played the clarinet for years. Thank you for being patient with those of us who are just starting out with guitar. It means a lot!
