FAQ Why Warhammer 40k? I put a poll out and the viewers decided Warhammer 40k Why four armies? The idea of one massive army sounds cool, but it has some problems. One person will win, and the army will likely be so large that it is unusable. I want these armies to actually be used and not overbearingly large. Also, with four armies there is a higher probability that one will win! Why these four armies? The Thousand Sons were voted on by the viewers, and the other 3 are the new hotness. We’re trying to attract raffle ticket sales so we can raise more money for charity, so we pick the coolest races. Can I participate if I’m not in the US? Yes, if you can meet the deadline. Why is the time period so short? Coordinating the efforts of multiple parties is very difficult. I could have done a better job and hope to in the future. Ultimately, I just wanted to get this done so I could fulfill my promise to my viewers and celebrate our success. You demonstrated how to paint a Rubric Marine. How do I paint a Tzaangor? Same question for all the other armies. Generally speaking, if 90% of the model uses the same colors that I use on the rubric marine, the army will look cohesive so long as the remaining 10% of colors aren’t wild things like hot pink, neon green, etc. If you add in some extra greys, browns, etc. it’ll be fine. If you are unsure of how to paint something and you volunteered for it, email me at “[e-mail]” and we can figure it out together. Some of the models are only available in boxed sets. How do I get them? You can try to find them parted out on ebay, you can split a box with a friend or friends in your local area, and you can buy the whole box and sell the contents you don’t want. I agree, it isn’t ideal. I wish GW would just release the boxed sets of each new model when the big boxed sets came out. What about adding decals? Feel free to add decals if you know how. Some models with decals and some without would be good variety. Various squads have weapon options for the unit. How do I know how to assemble them? Assemble them in any legal way (game wise), and it should be fine. Are there pictures of the finished miniatures that we can reference? Yes: imgur.com/a/rGTcg0t What about varnish? The NOCF will be applying varnish when the receive the models to unify them Why is the mini family so damn awesome? Because they let me flap my tongue at them and laugh at my dumb jokes.

I base coated in Retributor Armor and painting blue onto the gold is just as finicky. Thousand Sons are apprently just a biatch to paint no matter what technique you use!

@@Thornsworks Yeah, I've seen people say base coat/spray them all in gold and paint the blue in but I also found it to be a pain in the ass as well. Rather just airbrush them blue and work in some highlights and blending and hand do the trim like Scott did.

*Hey Miniac* Can I make a suggestion for the next charity event next year, ( as everyone seems so enthused and all the places were taken up before 24 hours had elapsed, it seems an annual event looks more than likely ). Start the event, 4 months before it is due to finish. For example : The lists to be uploaded in the beginning of May. Models need handing in by the end of August. The raffle to take place beginning to middle of September. Winners to be announced on the 1st October. You could also add a space on every army list for someone to make the bases, giving a rough idea of how many bases of each size you need. Also, Do 2 lists for all the armies in order of popularity, both for 40K and Sigmar, up to a maximum of 5/6/7 ? Only the top 3 armies are opened up for entrants at the start of the event. Once the top 3 armies have been filled, number 4 on the list is opened. When that is filled, number 5 is opened etc. etc. Most people involved in this hobby have a very generous heart and would love to help, and this way, you know that only those armies that are signed up on so quickly will be completed in time, as well as having more time to complete it. You could ask other KZbin creators to come up with paint schemes tutorials, so it's not all left to you to create them. I'm pretty damn sure they would jump at the chance. So, when an army becomes available, the painting lesson can be uploaded as immediately as the army is given the go ahead. If anyone like this idea, please give a thumbs up so a response to the idea can be judges. Thanks.

Notice that Scott pushed off the Ultramarines scheme onto Guy from MWM so he could continue his record of avoiding the boys in blue like they’re the plague, haha!
