One fundamental thing he ignores is that women are emotional and you have to adapt to how they are feeling at that time. *REASONS WHY GOING DIRECT IS BAD ADVICE * Here are 5 reasons why direct opener don't always work in daygame: 1. She maybe in a bad mood (recently broke up with her boyfriend, just had an argument with friend or family, got fired from her job, on her period - which sometimes can be painful etc etc), so you will get rejected if you always go direct 2. She maybe been approached by many guys before you or just scared, so you will get rejected by going direct. 3. She may have pre-judgments if you're a minority and may feel uncomfortable so you will get rejected by going direct (for example, my black friend approached this pretty white girl and she was shaking out of fear, he discovered that another black guy stole her phone the day before, so obviously he got rejected). 4. She will make an instant judgement whether to sleep with you or not (usually women decide within the first 10 seconds) and you have no time to BUILD attraction (remember women are like dimmer switches, they need to be slowly turned on, going direct is like just switching on the lights). So if your a minority or ugly, you will likely get rejected if you go direct. 5. She may be waiting for her boyfriend or husband and if he arrives, it maybe awkward or he may get violent because you went direct (happened to me few times). *CONCLUSION * Don't forget, Matt is a good-looking white man in a western country so has a positive stereotype, so going direct will work for him and getting the number won't take much skill or effort, but how about minorities (black or Asian etc) who may have negative stereotypes? I’m specifically talking about situations where you literally cannot approach her right away, *not out of shyness or doubt* but quite literally being in the middle of something that you can’t step away from within 3 seconds. In *some* instances, approaching within exactly 3 seconds won’t be practical and it won’t be a big deal as long as it’s clearly for a legitimate reason and you follow through immediately afterwards. I’m telling you this as a guy that goes out a lot (at night at least) and actually gets girls. What I don’t want is guys using this rule as an excuse for why they didn’t approach a girl...like “Damn, I’d approach her but it’s been 10 seconds,” etc. Do it ASAP but fellas, but don’t get hit by a car (one example) all for the sake of some girl you haven’t met yet; eye contact confidently and warmingly from a distance in the meantime and then follow through ASAP. Three seconds is not a hard rule; don’t come up with lame excuses for taking longer but don’t hurt yourself trying to make it in exactly three either.
