I’ve watched a ton of videos about bible journaling and this is by far the best one. We tend to get lost in the products, art and trying to make masterpieces instead of focusing on Him. Thanks for the reminder of what it’s really all about.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious! Social media can be a double-edged sword. And for those of us who are easily enabled to make purchase after purchase, thinking we must have every new product, in can not only break the bank - but as you so aptly point out - it's totally NOT necessary!! Sandy...I just watched all ten lessons and am going back and taking notes. This so excites me! I have an old Inductive Study Bible with HUGE margins but the cover was a total loss...so I took some tips from you and completely renewed the cover and now the bible is all ready for my new journey with the Lord. Hi, Sandy. I always enjoy your videos and learn from you. Your lesson today is so targeted about our time with God. When you shared what your pastor talked about....reading Scripture until God speaks something particular to you through it, tucking it into your heart, and thinking on that all day, I was very moved and inspired. Completely touched. You see, I had an experience early this morning wherein the Holy Spirit brought to mind a sin of ingratitude and selfishness I committed when I was very young, about 9 or 10 (I am now 57). I was so ashamed of it, confessed it, and sought His forgiveness. Now, it was a relatively minor sin, but nevertheless, I knew I had to talk to the Lord about it. It was time well spent. Resulting from that, I found myself asking the Lord this morning to help me get back in to daily reading of His Word, a discipline that is easily set aside, and your discussion has been used by Him to set me arights on the narrow path of following Him. I had kind of run off into the road ditch a bit and needed to be pulled back up. I am not a Bible Art Journaler. I am a sewer/quilter/cardmaker and am struggling to improve my watercoloring for cards. Yes, it IS all about Time With God. Thanks for your help today, Sandy. We just never know how the seemingly simple things we do will positively help others through His Spirit. God bless you, and keep up all your fantastic art!

I'm so thankful I found you! Ever since I found out about bible journaling, all that I have found are people who get more and more stickers, stamps, markers, pens, ....you name it. And I just felt left out. I'm on disability and I can't afford to buy all that stuff. One group I'm on...the lady buys a new bible every week. And if you question her...she gets very nasty. So...I just end up frustrated, looking at my bible and feeling inadequate. But after watching this, I feel FREE! I can use what I have, it's NOT for everyone to see...it's for me and the Lord, it's about being creative With Him. Thank you and God bless you!! I subscribed as I want to learn more and more! :)

You put me in a better place! I was trying to be everyone else instead of just being me. I purchased probably a thousand dollars on products. Frustrated that I don’t no calligraphy, don’t like my hand writing (recovering from a stroke that impaired my right side. ) I just got frustrated because I wanted beautiful work in my bible! i came across your video and gods timing was perfect i didn't find myself wanting to copy (hadn't got that far ) but found myself trying to buy all the products each person had used cost me a fortune and found out that i only liked 1 % of what i had bought but still buying any product that new people i came across on KZbin where using i thank you for putting me back on track it was like i forgot (i did forget) what i started bible journeying for in the first place i got sucked into something that i didnt even know i had been sucked into .......if that makes scence .......this was a wake up call and a timely slap in the face thank you so much

I was totally intrigued by your bible journaling posts. The next emotion I found was frustration when nothing came to mind no matter how "happy my heart" became after reading. It took me months to realize that what I read was coming out in the greeting cards I was making. I often hear that the cards they receive from me touched their hearts. So, I don't get to look back in a bible and have the reminders of what He put on my heart, but I get the honor of hearing what God wants someone else to hear from him through me. So, thank you for the reminder that each person's spiritual journey is going to take a very personal twist that is like nobody else's.

It's different for everyone! For me that "happy" feeling isn't always a distinct "happy"....it's often "Oh! I hadn't noticed that word before." or "Ok now I know what I did last week needs repentance and I owe someone an apology." It's those moments when I realize God just taught me something or showed me something....and THAT makes me happy because my Father is teaching me. Does that help explain what I meant?

One of my best pages was entirely inspired in the middle of the night by the quote on the front of my bible journaling (Where I just pour out my heart in words sans art) about how much better it is to get wisdom then gold, understanding rather then silver, I'm still getting ideas about that verse and new ways to do it

What a blessing! Such a welcome reminder of the TRUE purpose for journaling. I had such a fear of trying this, but find it so helpful as the Holy Spirit speaks to my heart, when I go back and look at the art, the Lord yet again brings to mind the scripture it was centered around when I first drew it. Wonderful video . I haven't used a bible, yet, but have a special prayer journal that use in a similar way. I would like to add that for those who are hesitant to use their special bible you can often find used bibles at thrift stores very cheap. My good friend and I use to buy they to give to people in need.

This is very beautiful and moving - thank you for sharing part of your faith journey. I read my Bible every day and about 3 years ago converted to an e-book which means I can underline and make notes in it, but somehow I feel strange about writing and drawing in a physical Bible. My beliefs tell me that the Bible is God-breathed, so I find the thought of drawing over His word difficult. I might try a prayer journal as a stepping stone, as I do feel it is a beautiful expression of faith😄

You are the only one I have come across that speaks about this I caught myself starting to do the same thing I noticed it or the Holy Spirit laid me bere I was starting to think if used the same products as them I could do what they did. I stopped in time before I bankrupt myself lol.I thank you for putting this out there it is so easy to get caught up in this then you are on a downward spiral of I have spent all this money (GUILT ) I still can't do what they are doing (ENVY) before you know it you don't want to go and read The Bible.
