I'm so glad you don't shy away from mentioning making mistakes. I just did a page yesterday on Philippians 4:8-9 with boxes around each of the things we are to think about. My "Worthy of Praise" box got a little wonky, which I thought was a little tease from God's great sense of humor. I'm loving Bible journaling and have discovered in doing it the added bonus that it takes me deeper into God's Holy Word thereby strengthening my faith. That's no accident. You had my attention from the moment I saw the baby wipe AND the iron. Who knew?! I dry my pages with a hot air blower thingie. :) But I always have to press to many many books to smooth out the wrinkles. I plan to try this with my mini quilting iron. Thanks!!!

I just purchased 2 of these off e-bay at very good price and you can find them in different versions, I have the NLT but they also have KJV, NKJV, ESV. Those are the ones I have seen and they have the soft cover or hardcover. I got mine in the hardcover. I really like them now just looking for the right pens so no bleed thru

I haven't done any Bible journaling yet because I love my Bible and have so many notes in it that I'm scared I'd mess it up. However, if I had a new Bible like this I would definitely color it. These are great techniques. I love the look and the fact that you can iron it dry to make it smooth again. Very nice.

You are not kidding when you say there are many small spaces in the Inspire Bible! I have a terrible time seeing them good enough to get even the very sharp tip of a colored pencil in them. Love coloring ahead on what we are studying at church and then being able to look at what I did while we are talking about that scripture.

Very pretty! :) You do some beautiful work with your bibles! Its very different in opinion about bible journaling, I feel... I could do it if I were more into the bible itself but my grandmother, rest her beautiful christian soul, would throw a fit if she saw someone "mess" up the bible! LOL!

+Sandy Allnock thank you so much for responding!! i just found a link to another one called "My Creative Bible" for KJV, that is supposedly by the same illustrators, but maybe not the same publisher. not 100% sure on that. it looks extremely similar if its not exactly the same. in canada i've had a hard time sourcing a good journaling bible - i wanted a "pretty cover" but nothing too fussy, and i just find i was more "at home" with the KJV since its what i've always used and the NLT was just enough different that it lost a little of that "familiar" feeling if that makes any sense!

Your technique is probably the best I’ve seen so far (and I’ve watched a ton of KZbin videos on bible journaling.) my very artistic daughter and I will be starting a bible journaling journey together when we get these bibles. I don’t have an iron. Would a hair dryer work? Lol.

Some mediums will: but I use colored pencil, watercolor, and watercolor pencil and there’s no bleeding.

oh man i just ordered this bible from bookdipositry.com and i don't think i would have the courage to use watercolour on the paper the way you have. that does look pretty but i fear that it will bleed through.

Not in the least. It's an act of creative worship unto the Lord. For some it's horrifying, and I understand that - but for me it brings the Scriptures to life.

I find that making art in my Bible is almost like a new way of praying. It's a new way of immersing myself into the Scriptures and spending time in the Word.
