I never tire of seeing your amazing creations. AND I am just about to host my first Bible journaling afternoon at my home this Sunday. Your Bible Journaling Made Simple is my inspiration! I’ve actually only done one page in my Bible, so I will be as much a newbie as anyone else who comes. I just want to create a space for people to meet with God in a creative way. I’m so glad God created us to be creative!

You can put down Matt gel medium and use whatever you want on your pages as the gel medium creates a barrier that keeps things from bleeding through the pages. So go crazy and have no fear. You can also use clear gesso but that's a little pricey. So just use gel medium. Mod podge is a Matt gel medium btw.

I love this idea of using a large sketch book for lettering ideas and then using some of them in your Bible. I think I will try this. Thanks for sharing it and the inspiration. Your work is beautiful.

While watching the video, I constantly had to pause it and screenshot every design I liked. I normally do that with the bible journaling videos but it has never happened to me that I literally screenshotted every single page :D I really, really like your designs, they're so diverse and pretty on their own as well as together. What an inspirational video! Thinking about starting Bible journaling. I don't read much in the Holy Scripture and hope that the journaling will help me to read more. But it's difficult to find the right Bible in Dutch to journal. So if someone Dutch reads this and can give me advise, please do!

Sarah Noyes you can use your computer to create the wording for your margins. Change your margins in the program (I love google docs it's free and has awesome fonts) to 2" and then use different sizing and fonts to complete what you want to say. Then print it out and place behind your bible page and trace first with a pencil and then use either an illustrated faith pen (made to not bleed through) or prep your page with mat medium gel like mod podge so any pen/marker you use won't bleed through. If you want a more calligraphy look do an extra stroke on the DOWN strokes of the lettering. It gives a faux calligraphy look. After doing this for a bit you will get the hang of it and eventually be able to write that way yourself without using a template made on your computer.
