1000 percent agree with everything said here Jason. Great content. I am moving my business the same way with smaller yards that are more affordable for the customers to take care of and easier for us to maintain and treat. If I have 12 customers in a smaller sub, I am going to pepper the neighbors to get on board with my program and discount accordingly. To only park in one spot and service 25-30 homes is the way to go in my opinion. Todders Total Turfcare SE Wisconsion

I like those who pay for the year. However, cash, check or stripe is fine. I will be raising prices in the spring with the thought in mind that these customers are also paying more at the pump as well. Flexibility to me seems important, at the end of it all it's about profit. I have some door mat people and some that pay ahead by the month, year or 90 days.

Never make it hard for good clients to pay you. The younger generation wants streamline payment in most cases. As long as they pay and it's not expensive to accept the payment I'll do it. I hear a lot of service guys refusing to add multiple payment methods. I love most of them because the client gets their invoice and I get a payment ding before putting the phone down. 😂 I'm going up on prices as well. Everything is going up for the business. Not to mention our personal shopping for take home pay. Never hurts to tweak. 😉

I have a fertilizer business in NJ- I sent a letter out with contracts this year, regarding price increases. Everyone was cool with it- out of several hundred customers, only 1 complained( a 10$ per application increase) If you do the right thing, answer the phone and handle issues promptly, you’ll always be good.

Two words. Late Fee. I charge an 8% late fee. Some years I make over $1000 in late fees. Does somebody somewhere beat me out of money? Sure. Not every year but sometimes. I don't do cash under the mat. (I'm not the yard boy from down the street). I agree so much with the smaller properties Jason. I'm mowing and 75% of my properties take less than 30 minutes. This might be your best video ever.

That’s what I do I currently have around 50 customers and I charge 30$ and what’s so sweet all of them are in a mile radius I just post up and on every block I have no less then 3 and some blocks I have 10 so I don’t travel as much less on gas that way we can keep our prices at 30 while everyone trying to go up and I don’t even pull my trailer or use my zero I just use my 30 inch and my Honda 21 in and out and buy all my houses basically block to block I don’t need a truck but that’s how I’m rocking if anybody ask do you cut on this side of town I say nope save money and time!

Require credit card on file. If you don’t receive check within 30 days of invoice you charge the card on file and make them pay the processing fees. That’s what we do. It gives the people that write checks plenty of time to pay.

Our updated policy for 2022 is if a customer has no card on file they are not on my schedule. Second, fertilizer customers are all getting a price increase. Typically + $15 they’re regular price and lawn mowing minimum went to $45 and corner lot to $50. Streamline or die. In a world hard to find good help we need to maximize profit. It’s business

@@lawncarelife when I watched your video just now I was like, me and Jason on the same page same exact time. That’s cool. My biggest dilemma is do I keep my really old senior citizens who refuse to pay card, they want to pay check. And I decided, we are a business and we need to streamline to maximize efficiency. If I needed the revenue then different story, but our phones are lit this year and I don’t foresee that changing so I guess that means, if the old folks whom I love dearly can’t follow the times then I have to make the business move of moving on without them.
