This video talks about why we went with the 4 blade prop for our Ranger Tug R27ob.
We love boating in Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands.
Our last boat was a bowrider and our first year having the boat, we were in Moses lake with our parents, and dad wanted to drive the boat, so Martin let him, and he ran the propeller into a bunch of rocks. How can you get mad at your dad on fathers day? You can't....what do you do? Instead of getting angry at your dad, you buy a 5 blade prop and have the old one repaired, and now you have a spare.
So Martin knew he wanted to get a spare to have onboard. He just wasn't sure what he wanted. He talked to a friend that had a 4 blade prop that he had sized for the Ranger Tug R27ob; he upgraded to a bigger boat but sold the prop to another Ranger Tug owner who reached out to Martin and offered to let him borrow it and do some testing with it to see if that is what he wanted. Thanks, Bob......We tried it out for 2 weeks, and Martin liked how he could be on a plane at a slower speed, so he bought one.
