Jordan Peterson is a run of the mill Christian conservative who has become famous for spouting generic self help tips. His form of self help is very much part of the illusion that Kalle has managed to break away from. This self help serves to make you a better cog in the machine that is the corporate run industrial society (the destruction of the world). It makes you interpret political and social issues as your own. Jordan Peterson himself is right wing, the right wing push for keeping 'tradition' (these traditions are part of the illusion and destruction of the world) while also advocating for industrial and technological growth. Technological growth and 'keeping tradition' are not compatible. You cannot have growth without drastic societal change. And this societal change is propelling us towards more degeneracy and destruction. He is not able to see this because he has fallen back on and takes comfort in the illusion of Christianity (a system of control that has allowed the mass of workers to slave away all day destroying the planet for monetary gain of the oligarchy). I strongly recommend to stay away from Peterson's destructive thinking and to instead see behind the veil: Who benefits from getting people to follow his ideology.

@@Tom-sf7cm I am glad you have your own opinion but i dont appreciate if people put words/thoughts into my mouth/mind. Its in my top 3 list because it helped me a lot in my life so it is very personal. I grew up and was raised christian and i am very close to nature and i call myself minimalist. There are many ways to understand his books and I took the best for myself. It helped me to get a stronger mind and get my life together. I am now self employed and not working for any big corporation. If you are a true christian you will not waste money on materialistic things. The biggest problem we have as a society ist over consumerism which leads to all the climate problems we have right now. I can 100% assure you that it has nothing to to with any Ideology but with people spending money on stuff they dont really need. Thats why i like kalle living a simple minimalistic life. He is a big inspiration and i am happy that i will soon live like him because i am self employed. The only thing i might agree with you is, that some people get blinded by JP and worship him like some kind of god. Stil i can totally recommend his book.

I have read such books through and through my life thinking during my very young days thinking as if I have to fix my lost soul to a standard of which the authors of such books have set. Reading what anyone wrote was always a human dialogue and all ideologies and philosophies were fascinating till the next life situation showed up. I read many new age books, about Buddhism and too many to explain. It was always a fall and stand up on my own until I realized I am not just a soul but I have a Spirit in which all I need for this life and beyond is Divinely and precisely stored up. It was Bible that gave me the way and the truth about everything that exists or beyond. I am not relating to The Bible as a religious book, but more a relational one that only one's spirit can reveal. I am now seeing why this world is full of humans suffering including my self and thankful for the Bible for opening my eyes to the HEAVENS❣❣❣

Ishmael has always been one of my favorite books. I've been watching a lot of those similar channels lately. People who move back to nature, solitude and the simpler things like "back then". Social media is usually described as one of the worst cancers of this cold and fast world that so many are supposedly are trying to flee yet they share their "slower, simpler und ultimately better" lifestyles from every available angle with thousands or even millions of strangers worldwide as the mainly only source if income. I'm not hating on anybody it's just that back to nature and full use of the questionable social media doesn't really fit together. Just some food for thought...

That's a good point and something I struggle with too. Perhaps though, instead of being a slave to these modern technologies we conciously use them as the tools they are to allow us to spend our time as we wish? So much of every day life is wrapped up in technology it's hard to shun technology entirely 🤷

Interesting point. I personally don't feel social media is the problem, but rather the way we use social medial and what we choose to consume. If we take responsibility for the way we use those platforms, then we can actually turn them into something positive, like the content in these videos. I don't feel it is necessarily going back to how it was back then, but evolving towards something more sustainable, using the tools we have at hand today. Loved the video, and the books that were recommended. Shall definitely be reading Ishmael. Thank you!

Also, I hate to point out anything negative on your beautiful video, but my one gripe is the Audible part. As much as I love Audible and have used their services in the past, I just cannot support Amazon in any way anymore. Since we are on the topic of being more conscious and realizing how our own actions have consequences, I think one of the first things we can do is recognize the impact of supporting corporations like Amazon are how they are destroying our planet. Not to mention how horribly their employees are treated. I used to use Amazon all the time, but after educating myself on just how horrible of a company it is, I refuse to support them in any way anymore. It’s very interesting too, that a lot of tooth issues come from eating soft (processed/ cooked) food. Children that eat only regional, unprocessed food rarely have jaws that are to narrow. Having the need to use the muscles of the jaw, helps to form it in its proper form.

This feels so familiar... I work in the corporate finance world now (not so long), and since age 15 I always said I'd be self-employed.. Due to circumstances I haven't been able to make the leap to leaving the 9 to 5. But I honestly hate it for exactly the reason that I can't control my time. I'm known for my broad knowledge on many different fields, many say I should be a professor but I now try to translate this into writing books. I enjoy writing. I hope some good things come from it as I'm 26 now and I can't wait to make the leap into a self-sustainable life!

Oh my goodness! You probably will never see this comment since I am commenting so late, but I had to leave it after watching this video. I recently discovered your channel and I watched quite a few of your videos and I’m not the type of person that comments frequently on any sites. However, when I watch this video and you mentioned Ishmael as your favorite book I had to say something. That is also my favorite book. I am always suggesting that book to people whom I consider that are contemplating a life change. Ishmael changed my life too. I love what you’re doing, Kalle! You should check out a book written by a friend of mine who is a somewhat well-known author. His name is Derrick Jensen and I truly think you would love some of his writings. I have so thoroughly enjoyed observing you and your lovely partner! Whenever I watch videos with the two of you I get the feeling that I’m looking at true, honest soulmates and that is a very encouraging thing to witness. Thank you for what you do. It is so important that each of us tries to leave some sort of impact in our personal circles. The things that you say in your videos can generate change. It’s like tossing a stone into a lake. You can see the water ripple out in Ringletts spanning a greater amount of space then the stone was in size. That’s how I feel about your videos. You’re dropping a small message and it’s rippling out into the world like a concentric wave. Much love from the Great Lakes US 💚🪷

That seem to be interesting books. The last one seems to be important - especially at this time. And it reminded me of my most favourite book that helped me understand a lot about the whole life here. With the words written in it, it paints beautiful pictures and ideas of how we could live WITH the world and WITH each other and explains a lot about almost everything in life. And most important: it is full of positive energy. You can feel how it lifts your heart while reading. It’s called ‘Anastasia’, written by an Russian author ‘Vladimir Megre’ and translated into several different languages. I really love reading it.

Hello Kalle, this is the first video of yours that I have watched. I would like to recommend a podcast that is full of great information. It is called the Huberman Lab. Next is a book called “Jaws: The Story of a Hidden Epidemic” it will get into the science of why we should breathe from our nose and not our mouth. Thank you for what you do!

My favorite audiobook was A River Sutra by Gita Mehta. I was fortunate to take it from my local library before a cross country drive. I can’t express how much I loved the book. When I approached Audio, the only question I asked was “ Is A River Sutra available ?” ( the copy I had was read in her own voice). It was not available. Years have passed. I wish you well.

It's the first time I step into this channel and I've really appreciated your recommendations. I'll definitely give them a go, thanks. I felt kind of disappointed though when I saw that Amazon is sponsoring this video. It's just that, right after sharing such meaningful words from Ishmael's book (regarding captivity and the disruptive loop we're contributing to), it felt weird to even hear the company's name. Hands down Audible is a great tool I used it for a long time until I decided to slow down on consuming their products for ethical reasons mainly. Please, don't misunderstand my words, I really loved this video and I'll watch many more on this channel. Thanks :)

This video was in my recommendations and it's my first time seeing your channel. I immediately love that you went from the city to a cabin. Then your first book on the list is one on my to buy list. The second I haven't heard of but now I need to look into it. The third is on my shelf and also changed my life. Subscribing for sure.

I had the same experience with Ishmael and even deeper and more intense with "Story of B". I read all of Daniel Quinn's books when I was a teenager/early 20's so it has been 15+ years. I think it is time I re-read them all again.

I’m probably gonna listen to Ishmael first, but I’m also gonna give you a recommendation! “The Promise: Never have another negative thought again” By Graham W Price. Best self-help book I’ve ever read, it’s incredible in so many ways and have helped me learn both to appreciate life more, and deal with hardships in life in a better and more productive way. Wish you all the best, and thank you for being just such an awesome inspiration and a fantastic person!😃

Tack, Kalle, these are great! The change you've gone trough seems huge. The same was for me, when I discovered the Book of inner knowing - Steps to Knowledge, which did change my life like nothing else. It's a daily meditation book with a very practical approach. Waaarm recommendations if you're not yet familiar with it!

I've never watched a single video of you and when in the beginning you mention a book "hard to put into words and that changed your view of the world" I got goosebumps, because somehow I knew you were talking about Ishmael. It was back in 2009 when I was having a major crisis in my life so I took some days off to a secluded beach in the winter with a few books that were recommended to me, and I think I've read this book in almost one go. I remember vividly crying in front of the ocean because it was like the fitting of a big piece of the puzzle of all the things that make me sad about human culture. Like the missing link that connected all the things I've read and studied until that moment. It was the book that at the same time answered the biggest questions for me and also posed me even bigger and more complex ones. I would recommend this book to ANYONE who feels like that narrator, a sincere desire to save the world.

You do not need to save the world, nor could you do so if you tried. You can however save yourself, and that is eminently achievable. Become competent, it will make you free. Let go, become free, it will make you competent.
@educostanzo2 жыл бұрын
@@davereckoning9530 To each his own truth my friend. I cannot be free in a world that it's not free. No one can. To become competent in what? A job? A career? That's not what this world is about.
@davereckoning95302 жыл бұрын
@@educostanzo Fair enough, and no problem. In terms of what I meant though, I meant to be personally competent in the basics of life: growing and catching your own food, living in a simple home (or boat) you can fix for yourself etc., only using technology you understand and can make or mend yourself and so on, i.e. to be able to survive, either for yourself or in your group, outside the modern technological world, as far as you are able. And I do hope you find a way to be free my friend, for although you may not yet see a way, my experiences tell me that it is possible to be free in this current world.

Just a personal opinion, but the Bible is number one on my list. Even if not a practitioner of Judaism or Christianity it is easily one of the most amazing books given it’s longevity. There is much wisdom that society draws from and the basic morals people just take for granted. Many of them start with the Bible

In 2016 a Nobel Prize was awarded for studies in autophagy. Autophagy is how the body de-tox'es and restores and regenerates. Autophagy is maximally induced by dryfasting. For example, my thyroid was removed in 1971 and after over 8,000 hours of medical dryfasting my body now functions without thyroid replacement or supplement. About breathing, when I was dryfasting my body AUTOMATICALLY began to breathe correctly.
