Tony Robbins books stopped me from committing suicide. It was years ago and I quit my job as a medical illustrator. The job became unbearable for me. I thought I could find a job in a week or two. That did not happen. I sent out 120 resumes and got one interview. As bills piled up, I realized I could not find a job. Even went to retail stores and they said I was too qualified for the job. Depression set in and for nine months I laid on a couch. Then a friend had me go to emotions anonymous. I was there six weeks and realized the other people had really awful problems. I only needed a job. So I left that and went to the library in the self help section. I picked up Tony Robbins book and it changed my mindset. Then I read all the self help books and realized they were all saying the same thing. Never had a depressive moment since that time 40 years ago. Lastly, I decided to go back to school and finish my degree. I have an MFA and now have no regrets. Life is beautiful.

I think that, if you read enough books in your life, one book will blow your mind wide open. That book is going to be different for everyone. For me, that book was "Rich Dad, Poor Dad". That book completely changed the way I saw money and, almost instantly, I saw the path to becoming wealthy. I've given that book, as a gift, to half a dozen of my friends but none of them had that "ah-ha!" moment like I did. It wasn't the right book for them at the right time. I've never read the 4-Hour Work Week because I've been retired now for nearly 3-years (I'll be 38 this month) and I hate "working". But I'm going to read it now on your recommendation. Thank you for sharing your video.

The book that began my journey into self development was "What I didn't learn at school but wish I had" by Jamie McIntyre.
