Completely personal preference, i prefer the slightly unedited, risk videos as i feel like i am watching a tiktok at times rather than long form content, e.g overused sound effects, and unnecessary zooming in on the face, again thats how i like content, people might differ. Apart from that the content is gold.

Not sure if it's game settings or an overlay but with the gameboard framed like that it's less obscured by the rest of the UI and your camera. Also congrats on the sponsorship, been watching the channel for about a year and you definitely deserve it and I think it's a great fit for your personality and content.

Hey Pete! In terms of greenscreen I would like to add a tip that helped myself once. You got quite some green shine on you. Try to have the background further away from you, so the reflection is less on you. Or play with where the lighting is :)
@TheKillPeteStrategy Жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Yeah there is a closet immediately behind my chair. You can actually see it if you go back to my earliest videos. So the only way to get the screen further away from me would be to move my setup to a different room. Tried to play the guessing game to see where Pete would cap this game, sort of figured that the Eastern Europe spot and the two Italy territories were traps and too isolated to do much, and figured that the Orient was too risky since it was nothing but 1's, so was assuming it would either be an Africa or France start. Didn't even consider the Cap being placed to isolate Russia, don't know why. xD
@TheKillPeteStrategy Жыл бұрын

The fast forwarding is fine if it’s during boring long stalemates. But fast forwarding when people are still setting up positions, breaking territories, and especially when we see Pete drawing on the map obviously explaining things is seriously taking away from the content. We’re here for Risk; it’s okay that the videos go a bit long because that’s how Risk is. I think you even fast forwarded over where Pete likely explained that white botted which is obvious to people who understand the game well but is a pretty important thing to not skip over. As a viewer, if I feel things are boring or too long I always have the option to skip ahead or go at 1.5x or 2x speed (and still get to hear commentary). If you edit it then the options go away.

@@MarkCW Notional value is theoretical, astrophysicists calculate the earth to be worth around 5 quadrillion dollars, so it's unlikely the derivatives market is worth that much, looking at the market value of hedge funds it's around 5 trillion and around 80 trillion $ in the world. Now I'm gonna go buy a hotdog for 1 million Zimbabwean dollars 😎
@MarkCW Жыл бұрын
@@passtheglass3170 Blimey, we have some educated people in this forum. Notional value is a term used to value the underlying asset in a derivatives trade. But I agree this is probably way too high. The Tax Justice forum estimate that the value of assets held offshore lies in the range of $11 - $12 trillion which is still above my lower estimate of $10 trillion! I think you're overpaying for that Zimbabwean hot dog at $2763 USD 😀
@JD2jr. Жыл бұрын
Oh man, first 30 seconds had me worried we were going to get a Zoomer schizo video, but the editing got chilled out after the intro. Still a lot of unnecessary speed ups, though; it's nice to speed up long, stalemate-y runs where everyone is just trading the same territories, but speeding up regular turns is almost as bad as a full cut and makes it easy to lose track because stuff is happening all over.

the fact "top" players" are making games that usually good players wont play to avoid them is and should be a wake up call how bad the ranking system is, and seeing these top players beating beginners and novices every video is starting to not be entertaining.
@TheKillPeteStrategy Жыл бұрын
There is pretty clear consensus that the current ranking system is poor among enfranchised players. The last time I spoke to the devs publicly they mentioned that improving the ranking system at this point is not one of their priorities. I can only do so much harping on about the same point until I reach acceptance of the way things are for my own sanity. If players like us want to encourage SMG to fix the ranking system players like us have to make them realize why that should be a priority. Welcome to the conversation in that regard!
