Me and my partner are looking to drop our renting lifestyle and purchase a narrowboat. Due to finances, it’s looking like we might need to purchase a project boat and I’ve got to say, although I’ve been met with nothing but pessimism and negativity, it’s absolutely amazing to have found your series, showing that everything we want to do is the in fact possible with enough hard work and dedication! Can’t wait to continue with this whole series you’ve got!

I’m glad you like. I wanted to do a warts and all approach. I wanted to show everything, sped up certain bits to avoid repetition but to show all is key for this channel. 👍🏼

Just found your channel, great videos - it’s always been my dream to own/live on a narrowboat but that’s not possible where I live , anyway well done for following your dream and for allowing your subscribers to follow you 👍🏻

Just discovering your channel. I'm slightly worried you'll tip your boat, with all the ballast stacked up at the end!

Hi James, just working through your videos now, love them so far. Would you mind sharing the name of product you used for treating rust? It's a little hard to pick up on my phone, captions have proffered "fat tan" as a suggestion 😆😆 TIA 🙏

Also, I wonder what you use for rust-encapsulation. Maybe ordinary paint? Special paints (for old cars) are seriously expensive. I'll keep watching…

My boat is not as old as yours but I’m just removing the floors so I can clear out all the rust and then paint the bilge 👍🏼👍🏼 though mine is not an empty shell👍🏼 Videos here on KZbin 😊👍🏼

Narrowboat Precious Jet I’ve just watched your vlog on de-rusting the floor - doesn’t seem to bad, your base plate is decent still. Hated remembering that noise !!!! Good vids by the way - looking forward to watching more and following your updates

Why not just rag everything out and blast it?

Should have just filled it up with molasses/water mix and left it for a month…pump it out non toxic and you will know what you have

Hi James. Great subject, good detail, but too much repetition and too slow. If you've the time and the inclination you could improve your videos by reviewing and editing them. I admit I've not done it myself, but I've watched a lot of KZbin and I'm sure other 'Tubers spend a lot of time editing. Sometimes if there's a social element (e.g. two people involved, like Minimal List and Foxes Afloat) they'll even show some of the out-takes.

I disagree. I'm getting a great impression of the work which may be involved.
