3 Cons of Semi Freeform Locs

It's funny, the thing about locs that I find appealing is the fact that they aren't manicured and uniform looking. That is why I started going semi-freeform earlier this year. And to avoid the scalpy look. But I understand that there are some people who want their locs to be totally manicured. No matter the kind of locs though, they are all beautiful.

Aesthetically pleasing is in the eye of the beholder it seems. Freeform locs are beautiful to me, ordained and ordered by nature. It's up to us to keep them clean. Thanks for your content sis, you're looking stunning

What stopped my hair from meshing together was to stop daily spritzing with water or rose oil. The daily spritzing was keeping the new growth in “Afro” state. The only time there is water or ANY liquid on my hair (especially roots” is when I’m washing it, which is once a week.

This is really interesting to hear, and understandable. I love how different things work for different people. Do you retwist your Locs? If so, how often?

@ I used to crochet, then moved to interlock cos my hair and new growth just wouldn’t lock. Since I stopped water spritzing in July, my hair locks on its own - almost down to the root too which shocked me. Also, when I started my locs I sectioned according to how my hair naturally wanted to gather/clump. It wasn’t a foolproof system cos I wanted a specific number and size , but I think it contributes a lot to the hair mostly separating on its own. The crown has some minor strays, but nothing major.

I have a problem with my roots meshing too; Which may not entirely be a bad thing since I was just saying that I wanted thicker locs lol. I try to pop my locs after washing but sometimes I need to do it a little sooner to prevent the marrying from getting too bad.

Hi beautiful queen. Some of my hair is loose in back of my head. I try my best to tie around another lock when it water, but a couple day later it back loose. Also my locks is long some of get in my face. So normally I wear a hairband or in a ponytail. But like that so do you have any suggestions

Maybe braiding your loose hair around your Loc, instead of wrapping it around the Loc might help?❤️

The roots tangling/trying to mesh together is a problem for me with locs. I think semi-freeform is making the problem worse, which is a shame because I love not retwisting.

Yeah semi freeforming has definitely made it worse for me😂😂 wasn't as bad when retwisting.
