"You and me together"...the BEST line of the entire video One day Jon will have these videos to go back and watch. When that time comes MANY MANY MANY years down the road he will be so happy he took the time to make these memories. Until Jon has children of his own(of he chooses to) he won't know how happy he is making his dad feel. Just spending that time with your children and KNOWING your children are enjoying that time as well is something I can't even describe with words.

Man, I envy a guy and his relationship with his father as an adult. I love my old man and we have no disagreements, but his first love was the bottle as I grew up. I experienced the outdoors with my grandfather and uncle and really appreciated them teaching me along the way. But I really would've loved to bond like this with my father. Thanks for bringing us along on this adventure!

I took my son and his friends camping throughout their youth. I am a compulsive planner. I still get a vicarious thrill when I break out the topo maps, fishing regulations, and weather forecasts. My obsession became a joke among us. The boys loved nothing more than throwing a curve in my hour by hour plans. Forty years later, they still ask me what the plan is when we meet. Alas, fish and game refuse to follow plans, no matter how well intentioned. Know you are not alone when you mutter "No fish were harmed in the production of this video." As a an avid upland bird hunter, I must include other species in my proclamation. It was obvious your father was proud of your work. His appreciation for the natural beauty and his time with you had him beaming. The apple did not fall far. As years pass you will cherish the time you have shared and the wonderful ability to recall those moments. And then there is the sunset. Who could have planned that? Thanks again.

"The gods do not deduct from a man's allotted time on earth the hours spent in fishing" - I don't recall the book I saved this quotation from but I do know I read it on a canoe trip.... the books rarely survived a trip as my co trip leader was a voracious speed reader and before the end of any trip he'd be tearing off the first half of what ever book I was reading and then using it to assist in fire starting. My message? Keep doing fishing trips with your dad, it was great to see this.

Hey Jon, I was at Carafel in July. All my fish came out of the north arm right after the river access. Bass, pike, and 1 musky at the point where the lake turns from West to South. Not a sniff elsewhere. Hope that helps if you ever go back.

OMG!! Jon!! Your Dad could not be any better! His pride in you warms my heart...and it put a lump in my throat.. It's so precious to us (as parents) to share and carry the torch with you before we have to let you take it forward for us...these shared adventures mean more than words could ever say. My parents (finally) went with me on my last safari (before Covid) after years of inviting and cajoling...They are more the Ritz-adventures - beautiful places with great amounts of comfort, and couldn't really see themselves out on the Serengeti using an outhouse, LOL! As we were flying over to Kenya, I asked my Mom why they decided to finally come, and she said to me that if they wanted to spend time with me, that they wanted to spend time with me doing something I love. I will never forget her words, nor the effort of stepping outside their comfort-zone...to spend time with me. It was such a gift. They had an absolutely fabulous time on our safari...and while they can't come this summer, they have signed up for 2023 - and bringing ALL the grandkids (six, including our two). I can't wait!! Here is my Dad (short vid) when we stopped by to visit a Maasai school...The kids sang a song to welcome guests and my Dad decided to join them. I don't think that had ever happened before because the kids were all giggling and laughing...great memory... kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y529o4Z-qLVoi5Y

Hi Jon and Mr Jon’s Awesome Dad. It looks like you had the best time you could ever have. That trip had some very spectacular views, wildlife, and sounds of nature, but also the treasured moments you shared together with your Dad. He is so proud of you and appreciates how hard you work to do these videos. Including the Dad jokes. Hopefully, the next time you go out that way again, your dream comes true (“grow some fish”)! Also, the food looked and I know tasted great too. Glad you were able to film those animal sounds. Thank You for sharing it with us. Wish I could have seen what was on the cutting room floor. Guess you can’t fit it all in. Be safe and stay well til the next one.

What a wonderful little Channel you have. I am originally from Sudbury Ontario but have moved to southern Ontario as an adult. My brother and I went camping fishing on Paul Lake north of Sudbury this summer. I owe this channel getting us back out there. I just have to mention one very nice thing about this channel....the imagery and audio are very soothing ....you are not a jarring loud talker who is overly excited AND..., you don't put heavy metal background music to your beautiful sunrise shots! A++ Just a very nice Channel.
