Had a bit of content constipation lately simply because I've been out there enjoying the paddling season and had very little time at home to edit. But we're about to drop a significant deuce of vids over the rest of 2021 so get your ocular TP ready. We've never had such a backlog of content. A few notes: 1) Long vid, there are chapters in the vid for each day if you want to break it up :) 2) Drone footage was captured at the access point, outside the park boundary. 3) Xander has a top shelf camera and I want to thank him for sharing some footage, particularly that incredible timelapse of the aurora. For his version of this trip and much more, see his channel here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6LOaYJ8rtesrsU 4) Special thanks to Brad Jennings for his map of this route (and others) and his dad Wayne Jennings for documenting their trip on his channel. The map and video were a big source of inspiration for this trip, linked here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5OUhmWApah3rsU

Wow! The caribou coming out from the forest and spending just enough time posing in the warm light, was surrealistic. To me it felt like a hopeful prophetic vision. I love the north country in the late fall. The wind, dark clouds, late autumn on the trees, the absence of bugs, and the steely color of light, are constant reminders to bathe yourself in what is being offered because it will be gone tomorrow. The Aurora at sunrise, the wolves, moose, and bear, made this trip one I will watch many more times. By the way, the emerging friendship and cinematography is awesome.

Brother... that first image. You have no idea what memories it brings back! In 2010 I travelled across Canada on my bicycle by myself and I remember being so proud of myself when I came across that sign! (Yeah not complicated enough to do that so I figured I would pass by Ontario's northernmost roads and do it counter-wind since I like suffering apparently). Man just because of that you bet I will watch the whole thing from end to end! Thanks for making me feel so damn inspired by sheer coincidence! (Besides, I became a kayaker afterwards, had enough of the roads for a while!)

WOW, WHAT.A.MOMENT!!! Congrats on your first woodland Caribou, Jon. That's one of those moments in life you never forget. Not sure if you guys in Northern Ontario share the same nickname, but in northeast Minnesota we call them the gray ghosts. The last known caribou pair disappeared from here in 1981. Since then, there have been only a handful of reported sightings. The last coming in 2004. Its a life's dream of mine to see a Woodland Caribou in the Wild. To say the least, I'm jealous, but so happy for you!!

Thanks so much Nick!! I think I have heard that nickname before and it's quite perfect. Hoped for this moment many times and it was unforgettable. So sad to think that their range gets ever smaller. Someday this place could be the same as MN...a former home

@@LostLakes Man, that is one sobering thought. The fact that wildlife is slowly disappearing before our eyes is pretty alarming.
