True confession. Took a bookkeeping course, have a niche, my QBO certification and support system but have been in failure to launch mode for over a year now. This is the video I needed at this time in my life. I’ve been procrastinating for quite some time gathering more information under the ruse that gaining more knowledge will garner me more confidence… all to avoid the fear of starting. I need a kick in the pants to just get it done and this is it.

Thank you for posting this video! I have many years of bookkeeping experience, a domain, llc, I’m a Pro Advisor who loves all things QuickBooks, even have a couple of clients through friends who needed help with QuickBooks Online. I feel like the more I learn the more I realize I still don’t know and instead of using that realization as a launching pad, I’ve been allowing it to paralyzed me, thinking I need more training or a certification behind my name before I start on my own. I’ve even paid for (mostly unnecessary) courses just to gain as many tips and tricks I can before I put myself out there! I am so ready to get out of the 9-5 rat race & take the plunge to be my own bookkeeping boss lady. This is just the encouragement I needed! Thank you! Love your videos!

Thanks for the push. After watching your video this morning, I formed my LLC, got my EIN, my domain name, and business email account! Now I'm going to the bank to set up my business account.

Hi. It's important to inform viewers that anyone forming an LLC will have 30 days to file the FinCEN. There aren't enough people discussing this. Also, I'd love to see a video about SquareSpace and your overall experience with them. 😊

LLC is not a tax entity. You can be a sole proprietor or partnership. If you are a single member LLC you are a sole proprietor by default. If you are a multi-member LLC you are a partnership by default. You can also elect to be an S-Corp. love your content! I’m a CPA looking to start my own business after being a controller for 15 years.

Are the following questions answered on your checklist ? How much ( or a general range ) would cost to start up a bookkeeping business ? What is the month-to-month costs associated with the business maintenance ? And how long would it take to actually start seeing a profit ?

I found you today and LOVE all your amazing guidance - thanks for sharing the knowledge. Quick question on getting that ProAdvisor Certification training (I watched that video too!) Do you have to set up & pay a separate subscription as an Accountant for that training access? The site keeps on sending me to my business books and when I try to set up a separate one I am required to pay a new subscription.. Thanks in advance for clarifying.
@FinePointsBookkeeping3 ай бұрын
Hey! The QBO Accountant account is free, you do not need to pay for a subscription. Krista (FinePoints Admin)

Who do you recommend banking with when starting your own bookkeeping business? I'm wondering which bank is going to be most compatible with QBO, provide the best support, and have the lowest fees relative to a bookkeeping business. I'm currently leaning towards American Express Business Checking, but I read reviews that it isn't very compatible with QBO.
@FinePointsBookkeepingАй бұрын
Most of the "big banks" work best with QBO, but Morgan recommends shopping around because different banks have different offers for small businesses. Also, depending on where you live, you can look into your local banks as well. Krista (FinePoints Admin)

My problem, being in California, is that the Sec. of State wants $800 to form an LLC. And that's every year, like car registration.

Thanks for the video! I don't know when I'll be ready, but mostly because I don't know bookkeeping well. Would you say if I can pass the Quickbooks Pro advisor exam I should be able to take clients? Or is there more you would think needs to be learned before starting your business?
@FinePointsBookkeeping4 ай бұрын
Hey! Morgan thinks if you can pass the QBO ProAdvisor exam and have a basic understanding of bookkeeping, you should be ready to start taking on clients. Morgan recommends taking on small simple clients to start. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3vGnJ1-f7d4fKM Krista (FinePoints Admin)

HI Morgan. I've been watching some of your videos and I want to ask are you still doing the teaching on the level of 1 2 3. I'm currently a truck driver and I am wanting to come off the road and be home. I am not tech savvy I think people from the stone age are more advanced. LOL. Do you teach like in modules where I can pay as I go. If so how much per module. I like the idea that I can stop anytime and take the different courses as I am able. I only want to commit a little bit at a time. My schedule is not consistent and I sometimes have to sit for hours sometimes days and sometimes it's none stop . I know I need to do this mainly for myself and I have several potential clients already and My boss is going to need a book keeper as his business is growing and I want to be ready when the time comes. I already have a good trust relationship with him and his wife. I talked to her about it earlier today and she said she would help me as much as needed. I have strategies to get clients. I really want to do this at my own pace. What are your thoughts?

Hey! Morgan does not have a course where she teaches bookkeeping and accounting principles. For a more comprehensive course that starts at the beginning, Morgan recommends Bookkeeper Launch: sk293.isrefer.com/go/BLFAQ/ML82/ . Here is a review Morgan did on the course as well: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHnHoHyBfrmcqKc Krista (FinePoints Admin)
