Hi guys! Thanks for sticking with me through my break! I'm planning to upload each week now going forward. I filmed this in December, so missed some of your questions on my previous video--I'll get those next time! You can also leave me a question below for the next Q&A. What are your goals this year?
@livingunashamed48695 жыл бұрын
I'm thinking about earning an online associates degree in accounting. Hope to be an auditor or accountant some day. Hoping to do AR/AP job this year while going to school thats the goal at least. I'm watching your vids, trying to get certified on QB and trying to learn about AR/AP and accounting online before I apply for jobs.

I'm surprised you are able to avoid doing invoicing and AR AP stuff. It sounds like it must be particular to your clients that they don't have any invoicing for their businesses. Love these Q and As because they answer a lot of my own questions.

Thanks a lot for your ANSWERS. I may sound demanding but I want to ask if you have any recommendations on where to find an experienced Bookkeepers to work with so that I can learn bookkeeping. And eventually start my bookkeeping business.

Thanks for all of the information. I know all of the videos I have watched mentioned charging 40 an hour or 250 a month etc depending on the client / workload etc.........but all of the jobs working for companies online are offering AT THE MOST 20 bucks an hour. Most of them are 15 an hour. I am wondering how freelancers are getting clients paying decent rates if companies can get people to work for next to nothing. Also I was wondering if every client you have has to buy there own quickbooks or if you can just create a new company file for them on your quickbooks?.
@FinePointsBookkeeping2 жыл бұрын
If you were a freelancer/contractor for a company rather than an employee, you would be charging higher (because you have your own business expenses/taxes to think of). If a company hires you as an employee, they can pay what they deem. Does that make sense? Have you watched Morgan's video on what to charge? kzbin.info/www/bejne/qp6QdqJpqdCYZqc -Gabe (FinePoints Admin)

Been watching a bunch of your videos - they've been very helpful! I just couldn't resist commenting on how bizarre it is to watch a video where someone is explaining what Zoom is XD So interesting looking back at Jan 2020

If you are holding the books for a client and decide to fire them, what's the process to close things off? Do you send them the books you kept for them? If so, how do you do that? I wanna know so I have an idea.
@FinePointsBookkeeping4 жыл бұрын
I have done it in QBDT before and you just download the file and give it to them (on a thumb drive, for example). On QBO you can just give them the login and make them an admin. Some bookkeepers are particular about giving up their QB file, but I'm fine just handing it over (assuming I've been paid for all my work). Hope that helps!

I am outside the US and I am currently starting the foundation in ACCA but I am looking Into starting my own bookkeeping Business .... How do you go about getting clients or do you recommend doing a course? I am currently going through the QuickBooks Pro advisor program... I do not have any previous experience other than I worked in Administration before ... So I guess my over all question is what would be your advise for me?
@FinePointsBookkeeping5 жыл бұрын
I think ProAdvisor training is a great place to start! If you feel like you need more after that, I'd say the most cost effective way to learn more is to take classes at a local college (or maybe online). Then start sharing with your network that you're looking for clients--I'll link below the video I made on getting clients. You'll rarely feel like you're 100% ready for your first client, so I'd say just go for it and learn as you go. There's so many resources on YT that can answer QB questions. Good luck!!

You mentioned people should make a certain amount before they can "afford" a bookkeeper and you wouldn't take clients that were "too small." What monthly amount would someone need to make before I should take them and what would you charge someone small with no employees and only 1 account and 1 credit card?

Hi, I have intuit I file taxes but I want to move forward and bring my bookkeeping clients into QBO. I sent my apprentice an invite and it won't let her login. It tells me she hasn't accpteded my invite. I saw her accept my invite and try to login then told her there was an account with that email when she logged in it told her to sign up. What am I doing wrong?
@FinePointsBookkeeping4 жыл бұрын
Hmm, you may need to talk with the Intuit help line. I haven't seen that exact problem, but I did have a similar issue when my client had her own (old) account and I wanted to invite her to the my new account. I usually use the chat function in QBO and they have been surprisingly helpful.
