Hi guys - I wanted to let you know that I just launched an Insiders Newsletter, where once a week I send an email with an important aviation lesson I've learned, links to my latest content so you won't miss anything, and occasional behind the scenes content. I'm also working on a big new project that I can't announce yet, but I will be sharing more behind the scenes content with my Insiders via email along the way. You sign up (free) at airplaneacademy.com/insiders

Ian and Kris and the whole TacAero team are awesome. I took the basic and advanced courses a couple years ago. Watching this video brings back great memories of this amazing experience.

Bush flying looks like a whole lot of fun and certainly makes you a better stick and rudder pilot! Makes me have to reconsider pursuing my CPL first or buckling down and knocking out my tailwheel endorsement instead.

Understand, in the drag or hover taxi, that we are well below Vso (no wind). Controls are mushy and slow. Dynamic proactive elevator can help find either low ground effect or just on...if we are slow enough. For your spot landing, understand that we can fly at a higher pitch attitude and therefore slower with power. Decelerate with full flaps on short final until a definite sink occurs. Now power can be brought into dynamic control as the most excellent glide angle and rate of descent control. Next watch for the speed up of your apparent rate of closure with the desired touchdown spot. Look down when cruising and notice that we are approaching everything at an apparent brisk walk. This apparent brisk walk increases when we near an intersection in our auto or the numbers in an airplane. By using elevator to slow enough to stay at an apparent brisk walk coming into ground effect, we can get rid of that potential energy of altitude or just too much airspeed that makes us bounce. While rudder dynamically and proactively nails the centerline and elevator nails the apparent brisk walk, dynamic throttle nails the exact spot. Wolfgang says it best on page 302 of Stick and Rudder, "The 'stall-down' landing requires that you blend the approach glide, the flare-out, and the slowing up of the airplane all into one maneuver so that, when you arrive at ground level, you arrive in a three-point attitude, all slowed up and ready to squat."

Thank you for being one of the few KZbinrs wearing a helmet for bush flying. I hope this becomes normalized.

I’ve been retired for over20 years after flying for 37 years and I still want to go to this 3 day course

I’ve just received a quote from them for the Intermediate course which is around 15 hours of flying and 10 hours of ground-school. Whilst I’m sure the training is amazing, it’s $$$

What’s their hourly flying rate?

@@tonystewart7287 The course was $10k for the ground school and 15 hours.

Your ready for water landing!

I think you should be in slow flight, or just a little slower, so the tail touches first.

So... when are you flying to Utah and start playing in Trent Palmer's backyard? ;-)

Yeah that throttle management is the first thing you need to master in FPV drone flying as well. We call it "throttle pumps", "massaging the throttle" or "throttle blips"... ;) cheers man, love these videos

Man it would be great if you picked a commenter on your videos for an all inclusive free private pilot course... I nominate myself and possibly my wife? lol hears to dreaming anyways

I have so many questions, starting with: how do you have 350k subscribers but just as many channel views? All you make are Fortnite streams, and only one person is currently watching your stream. How much did you pay for all those fake subs? How is your content relevant to anything here?
@OV-105 ай бұрын
@@sircrapalot9954 its probably a bot account. its a fake vbucks stream so it wouldn't be surprising.
