Awesome brakedown! Especially on a corner that doesn't look to be overly challenging or technical.

1) Trail braking more efficiently 1B) Smoother steering 2) More peak braking before corner 3) Earlier power

Really interesting point @Suellio I’m 5.5k ish and looking for them extra tenths to get up with high IR pace. I’ll add this one to the toolbox, thanks!

This made me learn something, release breaking pressure for longer and more importantly, more when you're heading to the corner apex.

Just the tip I needed to get me thinking in the right direction. Thanks! Five flags is a weird circuit

This actually makes so much sense, love the comparison thank you!

That makes really sense because it's a Porsche, but it can be different on front or central engine cars

i always struggle with exiting corners... im always super careful on throttle and still spin sometimes.
@lemonboy3197 Жыл бұрын
When I struggle with this it helps to remember that not only throttle input can cause oversteer on exit but throttle input combined with steering. Think of it in the same way you trail brake into a corner: the more steering angle the less throttle you can apply. Even if you were perfectly smooth on the throttle if you're still steering hard you'll spin. This is why the angle of which you exit the apex of a corner is super important as the video shows

Im ok not great and wanted to ask in your graphs it shows 100% of the time in all your videos that ypu brake red line is always above the green line gear change spikes is that just coincidence or is there something to this?

There’s no weight being shifted in a normal racecar, and you mention weight a lot in this video. Weight remains fixed, with every throttle, brake, and steering input. It is load being transferred as a result of the three inputs that we have available to us as drivers. You then must consider contact patch growing and shrinking as a result of the load being transferred through the suspension and chassis components of the car.
