The seatbelt chime hack - I was like - come on - no way - but it worked! So cool! Thanks Ben! Also changed my RPM screen too! The orange and red looks so cool together. Also cool to get a little warning color flash when to shift which of course is just a suggestion. I set mine at 3500 just to enhance my gas mileage when I am just doing daily driving.

Did the seatbelt thing the other day in mine. i check my mail on my way home then drive across the parking lot and having the seatbelt chime is annoying as shit. I adjusted my rev settings the 2nd day i had my car. It's been helpful when I get on it I don't have to pay attention to the revs, i can watch the road and shift when it beeps at me. I have been too lazy to disable my active sound because it's cold where i am. I need to though, because i hate it. Disabled it in my GTI back in the day the 2nd day i owned it.

Just got myself a new BRZ, if you talk to your dealership, they will deactivate the sound by computer so you dont have to leave the cable unplugged and just hanging out there. Your sales rep might not know, but just have them talk to their service tech.

Is the the constant seat belt reminder chime something new? I have a 2016 and the chime on my BRZ, although still annoying, will stop after about 30 seconds. As far as setting RPM for shifting and the beeping for when to shift, I would say to RTFM. I would bet that 90% of car owners never take the time to RTFM.

I don't mean to sound like your mother or anything but you should never move your car without buckling up, no matter how useless or fast you might think the occasion is. Many deadly accidents happen in those moments of negligence. Its really not worth it.

quicker fix for the seatbelt play music over it. The passenger beep eventually stops, I remember a passenger taking off a sweater and it'd' beep till it stopped after a whiiile like *aight then see what happens* this was on a 2013 model tho but probably true for current subies unless no lmao. congrats on the car. drift it and do donuts in it kinda responsibly for good luck. i've gotten lucky w meaty used Pirelli's, Falken, and Michelin sport tires + mounted for $35 each ($40 adjusted for inflation) unless you're a new grip guy then that's wassup

I literally did everything on this list before I pulled off the dealer lot. LOL Also in the dash settings the "GSI" is the gear select indicator. I turned that off. No more flashing telling me to shift when I dont want to, or showing me what gear I am in like I forgot after I physically selected the gear myself.
@BenLovrien2 жыл бұрын
I don’t like it either, need to do that😂
@ragweedmakesmesneeze2 жыл бұрын
During some car races I've done, I've forgotten what gear I'm in (or not sure after a sloppy shift into/out of a corner) and would have liked a dashboard indicator! Because looking away from the windshield in a race is terrifying! Similarly, the flashing lights and beeping gear indicators are helpful features when you are dealing with intense on track experiences. But yeah for basic daily driving duties, probably not necessary or even wanted.
@boost3312 жыл бұрын
@@ragweedmakesmesneeze I do have the beep indicator on because this car seems to rev forever and I found myself short shifting when trying to push it. The gear thing, I guess I just remember and can tell by speed as well.
@ragweedmakesmesneeze2 жыл бұрын
@@boost331 I think most of us were taught to "short shift," because it's civilized and saves gas and dad said so, etc. It was an "ear opening" experience the first time I was in a race car and discovered, that basically I had to keep a 4 cylinder Miata screaming at 5000+ rpms at all times if I wanted any hope of keeping pace! haha.
