The V600 scanner can be used to scan in 35mm film negatives positives along with any documents and old photos that you might want to scan. The Epson V600 is a great easy affordible scanner for all film photography needs. I won't go into the setup of the Epson V600 since it is so easy just how to scan the film negatives. Scanning film with these three easy steps can take less than 10 min to see your film photos!

In the process of moving, I was going to give my ancient v700 away, but after researching it, it seems to still be state of the at its level. So, out comes my Zeiss ikon cameras and we will see.

How are your scans coming up with inverted colors? Mine are not inverted. I'm looking at both the Normal and Thumbnail previews

I have an Epson v600 scanner which will not , for some reason work with my new MacBook Pro 16. I've got an adapter for the sb cord to the sbc and still can't get it to open, I've gotten to the point where I'm starting to look at upgrading the scanner.

How do you get that software? I used Silverfast 8 and it didn’t convert my scans to color images?

after a year+ of using this, would you say it’s worth it? can you get better results than the photo lab scans?

Hi, id like the negatives to have no color processing. I like to use negative lab pro in Lightroom. For some reason the scanner still applies color to the scans. I have color management off in the settings. Any ideas on how to get the scanner to scan the 35mm color negatives without applying color correction?

The preview window has two tabs: "normal" and "thumbnail." For me at least, when I click the "normal" tab, the negatives show up without any correction. I haven't found how to turn color correction off yet, having only gotten my scanner a couple days ago.

Hope you can help. When scanning film the individual photos are not lining up. For instance you are likely to see 1/2 of one and half of the next? Any ideas? Thanks

Switch to normal at top left of review window and take the pointer and run the marques lines on all pics then click " ALL" then ok in the pop up box but be sure to recheck your main settings as the pop up warns they will change reset to what you want then scan. P.S. it will just show a strip of negatives rather than a pic when you do this but I found if you use digital ice and color restore in the scan you will have a decent pic to your folder. Then you`ll probably be where I`m at trying to figure the compression and DPI settings so it don`t take up so much room on the drive and still get a quality print, Mind you tho I`m doing 50 yr old negatives.

Maybe you can do one one doing old negatives and the preferable settings for saving to digital such as DPI settings and compression size and so forth. I`ve been fiddling with it but many are getting rather large in size. But I guess I could get an external hard drive so not to worry so much, But had planned on keeping them on Blue Ray discs for the initial storage in album form.

Hi I am looking at this scanner and also the v850 I hear mixed thoughts and confused to which one to purchase I just wish to scan old family negatives slides and photos, is it worth the extra money for the V850?
@thefilmcameraclub8141
@thefilmcameraclub8141 2 жыл бұрын
To be honest it is probably not worth the extra money to buy the V850. You would need very very high-quality photos to notice much of a difference. S

@@matsteel2292 You should get a license for Silverfast - if it is the older version 8 (which I got with a recent purchase) - you can register that with Silverfast and request a free upgrade to the latest version 9. Silverfast appears to give better scan results than the Epson scanning software, although the UI looks pretty dated - as does the Epson software.

Are the scanned pictures as good as the prints from a lab? I have a few thousand color negatives and their prints. Need to convert them to digital. Don't know if I should scan the negatives or the prints.

Always scan the negatives. The prints often have a bad quality and when u have the right scanner you’ll get better results by scanning the negatives.

Did you develop the film prior to scanning? Can you scan right after the roll of film is finished on camera?
@thefilmcameraclub8141
@thefilmcameraclub8141 2 жыл бұрын
No you have to develope the film otherwise you will destroy the images by exposing them to light. The developing process removes the light sensative matteral on the film so if you try to scan the film without developing it you will only get blackness becouse they will have been eposed and reacted to light.

I’m getting a refurbished v600 to scan a bunch of old negatives and photos so I’ve watched a few videos about it. I’m a little surprised that in one other video and this video you seem to be quite careful about blowing dust off the negs. You even mention how annoying it is to fix the scans if they have dust but from what I understand the v600 has ICE to remove anything that you miss. I think it’s an extra infrared scan that sees through the dust and can fix any bits of dust. Is ICE over rated? Is there something I missed? Otherwise it’s a good short video with some helpful pointers on the scan settings.
@scottplumer3668
@scottplumer3668 2 жыл бұрын
Using the software's dust removal function slows down the scan, and it isn't perfect. Sometimes there are things in the image that the software thinks are dust and removes them inadvertently. It also isn't always perfect. It's always best to blow the dust off before you even scan.
@gunfisher4661

Try one scan with and one with out Ice the difference is real. In fact if they would have put a with and without pic on the box in the advertising they probably would have sold a few more scanners.

A Dr Friend of mine wanted some neg scanned. I have been fooling with computers / Software from the age of 16. I'm 52 now. You name it and I have seen it. I have set here tonight and fooled with the V600 for 6 hours, and came up with nothing. I'm running win 11. Going to tell him tomar to take the V600 back to where he got it and get his $ back. This V600 is a pile of JUNK!

It took me a while to figure out how to use the 600 as there are no good instructions with it or on the net and I still havn`t figured it all out but I`m getting some pretty good pics from my 50+ yr old negatives so far. And I`m doing 110 negatives also next stop will be the dreaded 126 film. I bet it will scan them to.
