3 Easy Ways to Make Bows - Easy Bow Tutorial -

Hello everyone,
With Christmas being right around the corner and all of us getting ready to decorate for the upcoming Holiday, I thought making this easy DIY bow tutorial would be a great way to start the Holiday Decor Season.

2.5" wired ribbon
Cable/zip ties
Scissors
Ruler
Glue gun
Glue sticks

Well, Dave, it is official. I. am bow challenged. My first bow. I had to toss. I did the opposite of dove tails, ruined my pedicure, yes, pedicure ,and stuck my finger witj the ribbon. I have packed everything away and will have to pay staff at Michael's to make one for me!!

So if you wanted to make a BIG bow for a staircase. What size what you do for each loop? How many loops would you do? Thank you...this was Awesome!

Hi Susan, if you're doing a really large bow, then I would use 4" wide ribbon. It fills up really nicely and looks great. Any 4" wired ribbon would do and I would do 7-9 loops myself. That's my personal taste. If you want more or less, then you can do so. I would start with the smallest loop being around 8" and then go from there adding as many as you want. Hope that helps. 😊

Hi there, a lot of wreath makers have different preferences on the best deco mesh to use. My personal favourite is poly deco mesh. It’s sturdy and I find frays a little less then the others. Hope that helps. 😊😊😊

HI Dave. Thanks for the tutorial. Do you recommend ribbons with the wired edges for bows? Gotta tell ya, at the end of whatever craft I'm working on, when I start to fluff, I always hear you saying," you know I love to fluff." lol

HAHA...yes, fluff fluff fluff. HAHA. I tend to stick with wired ribbon for bows. The reason is that the wire helps to shape and hold the bow/loop in place a lot better than ribbon that has no wire edges. It's a personal preference really. You can always use ribbon without wired edges, but I find they tend the droop. Hope that helps. 😊
