A Boeing test pilot named Tex Johnston did an unannounced "Barrel Roll" in a Boeing 707 in 1955. After the successful "Barrel Roll," the CEO of Boeing William Allen told Mr. Johnston in a nice way, "Please don't do that again. He actually did 2 "Barrel Rolls" to make sure everyone had a chance to see the stunt. Mr. Johnston knew the flying characteristics of the Boeing 707 very well.

You mean, because pilot error caused the crash? This was not the airplane's fault. Boeing built good planes in those days…

Let's not conflate the once great company that designed and manufactured some of the finest planes the history of aviation, with the facade of a company that shares little with the 'great one'.

No. The pilots dutch rolling of the plane past its bank angle as designed caused the plane to lose control. This was 100% due to pilot error and was completely avoidable. You simply can't push any piece of machinery, especially an aircraft past its design limits.
