There are a multitude of various drawing techniques to learn and frankly, it doesn’t really matter which one you choose, what matters is that it triggers all the important skills that drawing requires: observation, structure and expression. While there are many various methods and techniques you can use, they can all be placed in three main categories and those categories are really what matter, so here they are: 1 observational drawing, 2 structural drawing, 3 expressive drawing.
As long as you can find a way to work on these three dimensions, whatever the method or technique you choose, you make significant progress.

I am an artist living and working in France. I learned the techniques of the Atelier of the Nineteenth century and now I try to share some of my knowledge with the rest of the world, because I think that beauty still has an important role to play in artistic creation. I am curious about the way you sharpen your pencils. Is there an advantage sharpening them the way you do?

Yes there is, I talked about it during the stream: pressure range and angle variety. Overall it gives you more control for the light tones.
