Great video and learned much more about Wally's in the fall. Great rig for them trolling and jigging. Can't wait for some ice videos again . Hopefully we have a good Ice fishing season coming up

Very helpful video!! Thanks! I kayak fish 5 or 6 days a week in Ontario Canada and those Rapala crush city paddle tails are my absolute favorite baits. Walleye, bass, pike, and lake trout all go for them !! I use regular lead head jigs in 3/8oz or 1/4 oz depending on the depth I want to get to or wind conditions.

Nice video, Caleb. You didn't talk about what defines fall for you. Thanks.

I guess it’s more the time of year than the weather for me. Early fall would be mid-September through mid October. Mid fall would be the last half of October and late fall would be November. The fish may be a week or so ahead or behind schedule but the weather more determines how they bite rather than what patterns they follow I feel like.

Always enjoy hooking walleye when they're in shallow during the late Spring and early Fall time frames. Over the past couple of weeks, I've hooked the odd walleye primarily using vertically-jigged blade baits where I fish in Lakes Erie/Ontario. I generally only fish rocky structure beginning late Summer in 20-30 ft of water...still can't keep the smallmouth off my baits!

Nice! Blade baits are be underrated.

@@calebwistad They definitely are...and it's fun to hook fish on them. That sudden stop and "thump" on the blade is why I love using them. Some of the largest and most bizarre fish that I've caught were caught on blade baits...including a 20-lb channel cat, and an 11.5 lb 33-inch walleye. What I mean by bizarre is blades tend to catch fish you just don't expect in certain areas of the lake.

Thanks for the video, very informative. I fish a lake that has very few walleye, but they tend to be big. It's not a place you really target walleye, but maybe I give it a shot.

@@calebwistad October is the only time I've ever caught a walleye there, and always trolling over humps like described in the video, while targeting trout.

@@calebwistad360 shads just are better weighted than the crush city in my opinion. Those new 3.5s. Love crush city on other stuff though.

Lots of good responses here but I will add this: fish rivers. Anywhere there is good current breaks at least a few feet of depth you can find walleyes within reach of shore.
