I had the pleasure to meet up with Podiatrist Andy Bryant and Physiotherapist James Dooner to talk about foot health and running. These two are part of The Foot Collective and are some of the smartest guys I know in the world of foot health.
We cover the three pillars you need to prep before setting out on your next run. A few minutes will go a long way for a stronger, safer run!
If you want to work with Graham to walk, run, and sprint without pain, Start here: barefootsprint...

have a torn achilles tendon which is 90% good now still a little lump on it. do you have any good exercises to fix the last part there. driven for over 1 year now to fix it but still not quite well. have been doing a lot of eccentric toe raises

That just may be lingering calcification. If it's not painful then I wouldn't worry about it. But the best recommendation I can give is to work through my Walk Run Sprint program. Not to pitch my own stuff, but I don't know what all you've done or what you're missing in your approach!

@@thebarefootsprinter Sorry for not replying until now. thank you very much for reply. no, it still hurts, I keep going to physiotherapy. but the only exercise I have been given is eccentric toe raises. it worked very well together with pressure wave treatment until it was like 80 90% good. but has been running now for 5 6 months without it being completely good. over 1 year now in total.

Love the guys involved here and excited to watch, but I’m just going to say at the outset- way, way too much emphasis in the fitness world on “warm-up sessions” and the like, relative to building the “hardware”, the mobility, to be honestly acclimated to partake in an activity like running (whether that thing called jogging or actual running, aka sprinting). Unless I misunderstood, I think Graham has given us a piece of wisdom before of the nature of “if you can’t reliably sprint, you probably shouldn’t be jogging.” I would think that could be extended to “if you can’t do a variety of *fill in the blank regarding accessing positions with sufficient strength*, you probably shouldn’t be sprinting. Now apply the transitive property.

Really good insight - I struggle with the warmup stuff myself. If your body is too beat to do the thing, that should be a sign that something else is wrong. I'll put more thought into this and make a video about it. I appreciate you!

While doing the soleus isometric i feel the rectus femoris is it okay? Also many maneuvers of human garrage were really helpful to me but I found some of their stuff(reiki, astrology and many more)...... That's why I distanced myself from them but I want to know are the maneuvers really necessary?

Yes - you'll feel the whole leg in something like that! It's a whole system. And as far as HG, I totally get it. But absorb what is useful, discard the rest. I've found their fascial maneuvers to be incredibly valuable. I use them daily.
