I am cutting back on social media and caffeine and I have been spending more time with the Lord . Both were making me a nervous wreck. I'm rejoicing inside because I got a negative covid test after having covid. I wouldn't have been able to get through it without sticking to the word of God.

I think of Mary and Martha as an example of this. Martha is hurried, busied, and stressed, while Mary sat at Jesus' feet. It truly is the human heart condition.

This is really good. I grew up always busy busy busy with 12 others siblings we always had crazy lives. Even when i grew up i never knew how to stop being so busy, but also we were growing up thinking that Proverbs 31 woman is/was a woman who is constantly that way, not realizing that it was explaining a woman’s seasons of life. That old understand held such guilt over me because i always felt like i wasn’t doing enough to be that woman. This was a much recent revelation for my life. So thank you for speaking about this. 😊

Thank you Dawn and Diana. I needed this reminder. Recently I came through a season of depression and anxiety. When you said 'Why would you make us wait?' that really hit me because that's the question i've been asking God for two decades. Like so many others, i'd love to be married and singleness at 44 is really tough for so many reasons. I've even prayed God would take away the desire if he isn't going to answer the prayer because it's painful and so isolating. But asking God to show me what he is teaching in the waiting is something i rarely do, thank you for reminding me to do it!

Two of my favorite ladies in the world....I love both of you, Dawn and Diana. I am in a "slower" season in my life currently, but this video still blesses my soul because I have been in an unbelievably busy season a decade ago. Truly unbelievable looking back...I am still experiencing the negative repercussions on my health and family all of these years later, so my prayer is for everyone viewing this to embrace your wonderful, life-changing advice. ❤ I was walking very closely with the Lord during this exhausting time, but as Christians, we need to understand that God doesn't want nor expect us to do it all. God Bless you!!!

We used to be a part of a church group where the mother church was in Virginia. Different ministers would come speak or even live in our town and participate in our church’s activity. So often the comment was, “we love how calm and quiet life is here in Oklahoma. It’s so much busier on the East Coast.“ I think wherever you live, there is always the temptation to fill it up. Even in the dirt road communities I have been to visit in other countries, the people there have so many things that they can fill their lives up with. It is indeed difficult to cultivate an unhurried life.

Wow! This is such a confirmation for me on decisions my husband and I have made for our family recently. Our kids love sports and have played basketball for the last few years. They cheer for football and we take a break at spring, but springtime is so busy. They are taking guitar lessons, too. We decided to not do basketball and not add anything to our schedule. We want less screen time, more family time. Less busyness, more games at home. Less entertainment, more cooking. ❤️

As a busy working mum and wife, I struggle to stop and relax, I don't like wasting time. However I forced myself to stop on Tuesday, I was exhausted. As I laid in bed feeling I should be doing something, the Lord touched me and invited me to spend that time with him. Reminding me that time spent with him is never wasted. What a beautiful afternoon I had, just being with the father. I felt I had been given 'permission' to stop. 💕

I think i am Lucky to be in my thirties now.. cause pressure word Every generation. I grew up without a cellphone, with lots of playing outside and rarely internet and tv. My parents never drove me anywhere.. i love gardening, Just time outside with simpele tasks i do not hurry, walks in the forest that starts in 300 meter of my house. Also, i am a Stay at home mom for now. I sit on a bench in the playground for hours a week. Jesus pace is a little to slow.. that way groceries would go bad before i am home. But i often walk and bike whatever is possible. The car is the Final solution, we use IT twice a week. And than i take my time. No hurry.

I sure needed to hear this. Even though I don't work outside the home, it seems that I am constantly busy. My hubby works from home, so first thing in the morning can be a bit rushed. Then once he is working I have daily errands that some time take half the day. Currently I am assisting some family members 2-3 hours a day, so by the time I am home and trying to catch up on stuff, I am wore out. I have started making it a priority to stay home 1 day a week and just spend time doing what I want to do. Thank you both for being such a Blessing. Love from Jacksonville, Florida

My counselor, a wonderful Christian women, just said this to me. Be a better steward of my own life. I've been in care giving mode since 2015...each year brought a new trauma that needed attention. So, the urgent took precedence over the necessary. My stress level is horrible and my house is a sty. I feel like I'm getting "permission" to say NO.

Thank you, Diana, for your honesty about the car accidents. What a great response to ask God for insights. I, too, have slowed down my life and It's given me a deeper appreciation for what God's blessed me with. I get more done in less time because my house stays tidy. I have a better sense of purpose and am pouring into other's lives.

Happy you weren't hurt and didn't hurt anyone Diana. In everything Jesus sets the perfect example for us. He got up early in the morning to talk with Our Father. I have to put prayer and worship at the beginning of my day or it's not going to happen. I find when I put God first everything else will work out because I would have already handed over my day to Him. He already knows what is going to happen; he won't be surprised and there will already be provision for whatever comes. I would have already asked for provision/my daily bread, and 'Our Father' is pleased to provide for His children. If this physical world is like the tip of a glacier we can see, with the extensive mass underneath being the spiritual world- I need God to guide me and take care of me! We are spirit beings in physical bodies and yet we hardly discern what is happening in the spiritual realm...

Thank you so very much for this (and all of your) beautifully encouraging video! Last spring I was offered an opportunity to fulfill the ministry dream/vision I had for almost 10 years - running a women's discipleship residence. My (somewhat) young family lived next door to the residence. Right after we relocated to the new community and moved into the home, before the residence even opened, I started feeling very oppressed/depressed. I tried to work hard, but I shut down. I didn't sleep well, and I didn't feel well most of the time. Possibly spiritual warfare? But trying to be wife and mom, yet being at the Beck and call of the ladies next door was obviously too much for me? Plus the isolation of being in a new community didn't help. While my family grew spiritually the entire time, I felts unsafe, and my irrational fears took a toll on my marriage. When they let me go because it wasn't working out, it was actually RELIEF, despite having to move back in with my MIL! 😜 The color came back to my face almost immediately! Since we moved back in with my MIL, I sleep so much better. I keep praying asking God what is next, but for now He has me enjoying a beautiful season of rest to recoop. Sometimes it takes chastisement from the Lord to get our attention and slow us down, but it's because He loves us and it's well worth it! 🥰 I frequently spoke to the residents about us BEING vs DOING. ❤️🙌 May the Lord Jesus continue to bless you ladies - you make a difference in this world! ❤️🙏

The part in the prayer were you pray "add in life-giving relationships to us" jumped out at me. I'm married to a narcissist, and struggle with dealing with him and all the people he's conned about my character, as well as all the well-meaning people who think they have the answers about how I should be living my life. Unless you've ever been involved in an ongoing, personal relationship with a narcissist, you have NO clue what a different breed of animal you/I am dealing with.

I made a new friend when I rear-ended a sweet lady. We had to wait quite a while for police to come, and found out a lot about each other. She came by my work a few days later to make sure I was ok. My car was driveable but was totalled. Hers was minimal damage and because we had the same insurance carrier, they waived the deductible.

I have deeply enjoyed the last few months of a truly slower pace, just being with my children and husband and extended family, having finally come to the place where I could quit my job and not fret (oddly, the Lord actually provided a better job with hours essentially of my choosing - He is so good). Thank you for the example and encouragement to continue fighting for stillness, peace, and a slow pace for my family as pressure mounts to enrol my kids in this or that or put them in public school or do any number of things that have the illusion of adding value and meaning to our lives. I have lived as a Martha and I don't want to go back there!! I'm not Mary yet, but I am at least so much more present and attuned with my husband and children, and there is space for my heart to rest in God.

So crazy how I needed to hear this today... I'm currently a homeschooling mom trying to keep my child on track with what his classmates are doing in school. We chose to homeschool because of Covid outbreaks at the school. Granted it was our choice, the teacher was two days late this week in getting his homeschooling packet to us. Which means we have three days to get five days worth of school work completed. This was heavy for me because it felt entirely unfair to my son. In advocating for my son, I have his teacher, the school counselor and my husband on one side and me on the other. But in the end, I gave in and said we'll make it happen somehow. I wouldn't normally give in, but I'm tired and I need to slow down my efforts and just let things fall where they may. I'm hoping and praying that this isn't a hard week for him or me (being his teacher). The reason I'm sharing this though is that yes, I could have faught to have them excuse two days of study, but my mental health is important to me and letting God take this was better for me right now. But this video validated that by saying 'slow down and breath'. So thank you, Diana.

This is wonderful advice about sleep! One thing we do now to honor our bodies needs and circadian rhythm is to turn off all overhead lights once the sun has set and only use soft glow floor lamps after that time. Not only does it help our bodies settle down it also “feels” so nice and cozy and a small ritual we look forward to to signify rest is coming.

Lately, I have been trying to get back to leaning on God, giving over my cares and worries to him and it is a process. I was watching one of my favorite shows - Blue Bloods - and one of the people had a prayer that I thought was beautiful that I want to share with you…. It is a prayer that a coach would say before every game, and I have thought that I would now say this every day before I head out because I think it applies to the game of life … Dear God. Today is Game Day (every day is game day) and I place myself in your loving hands. Help me to be a good sport (be kind). I pray that I don’t seek individual glory or accolades. But that I play for your glory and the good of my team (coworkers, clients, employers). Amen (the bracketed items are my interpretation).

I make a point of it esp when I saw how my toxic fam had constantly pushed and rushed me into so many pointless, futile things. After I saw that....never again. Such busy beavers they all are. They have often called me “lazy.” But nah bruh. I just like to think more than they do before I leap. Let the sky go ahead and fall Chicken Little. Lol. Don’t put off a full blood test because you believe that your symptoms are down to you being a busy mum. Tired is a busy mum’s middle name and it’s so easily overlooked. Love to all xxx

I have let my laundry sink overfill two times now. Unfortunately, it is on the 2nd floor. Water streams from the can lights onto the living room floor and also travels through the heat registers ALL the way to the basement. Ugh. Both times when I have made this mistake I have been doing TOO MUCH in life. When my life gets overwhelming the laundry sink ends up overflowing. I cannot do it all. I cannot change the sheets, vacuum the fabric headboard, and answer my sons’ 20 random questions in a 5 minutes span while the sink is filling for me to soak the pillow cases. Life lessons can be hard and messy.

Great message again Diana - do less and look for God's face (not his hand) and trust him to see you through and guide.

‘You’re INVITING us to a RHYTHM OF LIFE that is LIFE giving and that will bring PEACE back to our souls.’ What a beautiful PRAYER and a beautiful CONFIRMATION of God’s working in my own life. For the past few months, the Holy Spirit has been impressing me to find RHYTHM in my daily life. I had no idea what that meant until today. In the simplest way I know how to explain, I feel like He is calling me/us to make those things which FILL US UP rather than deplete us front and center. As I/we focus on and do THOSE things, we will fall into a comfortable RHYTHM in our day to day life. It won’t be a chore or a burden. Jesus says ‘MY yoke is EASY and MY BURDEN is LIGHT.’ I once questioned Jesus about this very scripture after feeling completely exhausted and overwhelmed. He simply said, ‘Sheri, if the yoke you’re carrying is hard and the burden you’re carrying is heavy, IT’S NOT MY YOKE.’ Sweet Friends, lay aside anything that is draining YOUR soul and RUN TO JESUS. He is all YOU need! 💛

Thank you so much Ladies! Thank you Sister Diana for sharing the Word. I like this message of slowing down and connecting with GOD. Find things that are life giving. “Going at the pace of JESUS” as you shared Sister. ❤️

I loved hearing recently.. We should be working from a place of rest. I can't remember if one of you had said that. But the point is it was so impactful. I shared it in small group tonight and we all just paused and soaked that idea inward

Thank you, this is definitely something the Holy Spirit is saying to me. I’ve been reading John Mark Comer’s book The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry and Essentialism and have spoken to me in volumes. Nothing good comes out of hurry and the times when you’re more likely to snap at someone is when you’re in a hurry. Diana I can relate to driving into the back of someone when you thought that cars in front were already moving. It happened to me and I was horrified when it was the head of the police in my county who stepped out the car and I was in the middle of a convoy of unmarked police cars on their way to an important meeting 😱. They were so gracious and were more concerned about my well being and of my toddler who was in the car with me. Thankfully no one was hurt but there was damage to both vehicles!!
