Body odor and breath change after menopausal and I rarely hear any women talk about it. It happens to everyone, even if you think it doesn’t. My dr and dentist explained it to me, bc I am OBSESSED with good hygiene and smelling good. I couldn’t understand what was happening 🥴

I use a potassium alum spray as deodorant. It never stains my clothing, and it doesn't leave a goopy feeling on my skin. It never burns my skin like commercial deodorants do. Being water soluble, it mixed up easily and comes out in the laundry readily. I recommend it unless you have a bad sweating problem because it is a deodorant and not an anti perspirant. Otherwise you might have to reapply it during your day. I use a couple tablespoons of powdered alum per 10oz of water in a spray bottle, although you can experiment with the amount. I get powdered alum off of Ebay or Amazon. It also comes in the form of crystals that are prepackaged, but you still have to get them wet first. Potassium alum is also good for other stinky places, like feet and naughty bits, but is much cheaper and less goopy than Lume.

Love Lab Muffin and between her and Chemist Confessions (cosmetic formulators) and other derms, it's been good to see people question Valisure and their studies (sunscreen, dry shampoo) and motives. As for the BP and applying deodorant at night, Dr Dray has recommended that in videos over the years.

Eating chlorella or taking pills will help that. When I take chlorella every day I don't use a deodorant. Actually I know about those antiperspirants which have to be applied at night . Certain Dri is also good for applying at night. Thank you Doctor 🙂

A tip I wished someone had shared with me years ago is to drink some diluted apple cider vinegar “with the mother”, it’s usually a glass jar. Helps a ton when your ph is off.

What if you shower in the morning? Should you just wash your arm pits at night and apply the antiperspirant? I’m. On the fence about whether to use aluminum or. It also. I haven’t found a natural deodorant that keeps me from smelling bad after a few hours.

Native is the only one that has worked for me (from all the brands that do not contain aluminum). I have gone back to using the ones with aluminum because they’re cheaper than Native.

Antiperspirant works as you sleep because we sweat less at night. I use a really gentle but very very effective antiperspirant+ deo combo called Uriage. It is the best! You can use it morning and/or night. Also, aluminum under the arms is our friend.

I understand why you would want to apply an antiperspirant at night. But why do you recommend to use the benzoyl peroxide at night specifically? (I shower twice a day anyway so it’s no big deal)

Maybe you could help me out with this: I used ProActiv for many years (9 years to be exact). After having my son in 2016, all of a sudden I developed a terrible allergic reaction to Benzoyl Peroxide. I thought maybe it was just PeoActiv. So I purchased another over the counter brand of benzoyl peroxide and it caused the same reaction on my face. Huge red, itchy and burning bumps and would last 3 days. I think I tried it once more from another brand and the same exact reaction occurred. Do you have any idea as to why this could’ve happened? How did it work so well for me for a period of 9 years and then all of a sudden I’m allergic to it 😢 I feel like nothing else has worked as well for my adult acne as benzoyl peroxide did. I feel like salicylic acid isn’t strong enough to give me the same results. Your input would be greatly appreciated ❤

Thank you Dr.Auchi for making my life healthy once again, I’m excited to be cure permanently from Tmau odor disease after suffering from it for the past few year. Thank God I don't have this problem, because I predict benzoyl peroxide would burn like a m******r. Of course, I always put antiperspirant on at night. You have to nip that stink in the bud. Also, of course I dry super thoroughly, especially between every single toe. I don't have to tell you why, right? Nevertheless, since it's harder to find high percentage cotton socks these days, I think feet could be fresher. Hence, the quest for more info.
