I used this for an upcoming holiday recently. I used most of the same SEO for each listing. Instead of making copies of Etsy listings, I make copies of my Printify listings. Hey there Natalie! You are right! It will be an "empty" listing with no print file attached. If that listing starts selling you have to go in and sync it at that time. Hope that makes sense! Hi Shawna! As always, fantastic video. Thank you for all you do. I have a question that feels “stupid”. When you copy a listing, is it automatically attached to your print provider because of the sku, or is there something else that needs to be done?

Same question here! If you copy the listing, isn't your print provider going to print the first design? How will they know to print the new design?
@shawnalynn2083 Жыл бұрын
Good question Rebecca and Amy! With Prinful nothing is attached. With Printify... if you are copying a listing that is already synced up and has skus they would carry over into the copied listing. You would need to delete them out of your Etsy listing so that listing had no print files attached. I usually am copying from the last listing that I did this with that hasn't sold yet so there are no print files attached. Hope that makes sense!

Love your content Shawna. I have a burning question a bit unrelated to today's video. I started my shop back in Q1. It was a really slow go for quite a while. I started out with tshirts and sweatshirts and randomly started listing a different product type and that's what took off. Since then I've completely pivoted to this new product type and have slowly been letting all those other listings expire and haven't renewed them, as they didn't sell. Now that my shop has a bit more momentum and we're going into Q4 I'm debating if I should renew all those hundreds of listings I did or not. I've heard that if a listing didn't get any sales the Etsy algorithm will give it a low rating and it might have a low chance of success so I might be better off copying those listings and making them new rather than renewing if I do want to give them one more chance, which of course is a bit more time consuming. Do you have any thoughts or advice on this? Thank you.

Hey there! I am so glad to hear you found this unexpected success with another product! Whoo hoo for experimenting! You need to be careful when changing listing print files if using Printiful. This has happened twice to me. I upload the print file view the mock up amd don't like something so I change the file and reload it, delete the original one and replace it with the new one. For some reason printiful is holding that first file on the backend and printing it instead of the new one. I ordered a sample of my new print file and mine was perfect. 3 days later a customer ordered the product and hers jad the original background color. I went back and looked at a tshirt I ordered as a sample and had thought I made the error and ordered the wrong one but nope. They printed the original print file. This is a major issue. I have a ticket in for a reprint on my customer's item but it really shouldn't happen. I now delete the template and start over with a new template to avoid the printing of the wrong file.

Hi there! Thanks so much for watching the video and taking a minute to leave a comment! You will notice many KZbinrs sharing their Etsy journey don't share their shop names. I always so wished they would as I was so eager to learn from their example! I came to understand that this is because this would send a lot of traffic to the shop which would normally be a wonderful thing if that traffic were likely to be purchasing a shirt. But with a channel like this most of the traffic would be clicking around the store looking for examples instead of making a purchase. This would hurt the shops conversion rate (the percentage of people who click in and purchase) and as a result the shop could drop in ranking, be less visible in search results, and have decreased sales. Hope that all makes sense! But I am happy to share lots of my numbers, data, experiment findings, and strategies I use so that you can implement them in you own shop. Hope this helps!

Hey there Mike! I have so many questions! Did you AB test 100 designs so you have 200 listings? Did you have enough listings in any one niche to get good data in that niche? Was this a quick massive upload over the last month or did you start listing 2, 3 and 4 months ago? As a new shop you have to give these things time. Have you been consistently adding to your niches over time? Like for a few months at least? And are you making designs in niches people are currently doing searches for like Halloween and Christmas? All of these would factor in to seeing results. I hope some of these questions help give you some direction on what to do next!

But the thing is here, one should experiment with a lot. So kinda need some control.... Rather than making 100 in one niche, we are planning to make 10-15 in a niche Or a sub niche...

Hey there! That is great! I find too many people doing 2 or 3 designs in a niche and moving on to the next! You are really giving your niches a solid try with 100 listings! Don't forget to go back and look at the stats or those listings and make some more designs based on what is getting clicked on. Doing this over time can really make some of those niches you are trying out powerful!

Hey Shawna! Have you ever received a fishy influx of "direct traffic" for just one or two days that has messed with your conversion rate? I had this happen for 2 days ago and then drop back down to normal. I am reading that your conversion rate dropping can affect where Etsy places you in search! I Googled this issue and am reading it may be someone scraping my shop to steal designs! Or some type of bot scrap in general. I just wanted to see if you had experienced anything like this since you are more seasoned and how you handled it? Thanks!
@shawnalynn2083 Жыл бұрын
Hey there Jennifer! It use to happen to me once a month! Like a huge spike... My normal might have been 60-100 views a day at the time and it would spike to 1200 to 1300. I figured it was a bot thing. Nothing to do but keep listing! I didn't worry myself with it. Hope this helps!

How do you duplicate a listing in Etsy without going through print provider etc?
@shawnalynn2083 Жыл бұрын
Hey there! You go into your listings tab on Etsy. Find the listing you want to "Copy." Open the drop down menu in the lower right hand corner and hit copy. Hope this helps!

Man I wish I could do this print on demand stuff. I have so many ideas. I have tried twice and failed. I literally think I might be too dumb to do this. You and other youtubers say anyone can do this but I guess they have it met me. LO l. I still can't even seem to get a group done correctly😢.

Another great video! I hope you can do a step by step how to list video. But in the meantime you really should "tuck" your sweet little man in for a nap . He must get so "tuckered" out from his cuteness duties of giving his paw of approval and tips! I can't help myself, sorry! He really is so cute!

@@karlos99able Hey there! So sorry there was any confusion about that! And so sorry you felt disappointed when you clicked on the link! It took tons of research, years of experience, and many many hours to create so this resource is an investment. But there are several free downloads available at stan.store/simplyshawna. I suggest the free coquette mini resource, the free Thanksgiving resource and the five fall niches!

Hi Shawna!! First of all, thank you very much for your inspiring and educational videos! They're awesome! Very detailed, motivating and easy to follow. As a teacher myself I really feel identified with your story and I've even cried with you in the video with Cassiy in which you share your POD journey ❤ I'm also mom of 2 cute cats and I'm very glad to see that Tucker is happy and healthy now😍 Another great teacher, by the way!😉🐶 I'm a newbie here, just learning from your fantastic design strategies, starting A/B testing and getting the gist of it, but I still have a question about copying the listings on Etsy to save time and I hope you can help me with it: do you recommend me to copy the listing and right after creating the product in Printify and copying the SKUs on my Etsy listing or you just leaving the SKUs empty until I get sales on it and then create the product in Printify? Maybe it's a silly question but if you start your listing on Etsy, copying the SKUs also takes time and I'm always afraid of confusing the SKUs' boxes on Etsy and making a mistake when copying the numbers🙈 I 've read that you're using these 2 options and I'd like you to give me some advice on the best option for a newbie. Thank you very much in advance for your help and generosity!🤗❤

What a nice message May! Thanks bunches for taking a minute to write this up and share your story with me! Congrats on getting started and I am so glad my videos are helping! Great question! Not silly at all! I primarily use Printful and so copying with everything synced is not an option. If you have a system down and it doesn't take too long for you to start out in Printify and then copy a listing that already has all its SKUs then that might be the way to go! If it does slow you down a lot you might consider doing it that way once you are getting more traffic and more listings are selling. Hope that makes sense!
@mayfernandez4203 Жыл бұрын
Hi Shawna!! Thank you very much for your advice. For the time being, I think I'll opt for the second option to save time until I have more traffic but I'd also like to learn how Printful works. Just in case, do you have a video about it?😆 I think I'm becoming addicted to your videos!!😂 I take notes and rewatch them several times to check I've ticked all the boxes 🙊🙈😂Anyways, thank you very much for your help!! I truly appreciate it!🤗❤
