He is very underrated for some reason, even though he is the only English player to have won the Ballon d'Or twice.

A 4th thing. He sold Newcastle’s all-time record goal scorer in a single season, Andy Cole, to rivals Man Utd. Helped United win multiple titles over the next 9 years to Newcastle’s nil. Never understood that sale. Cole was flying. All his goals came from open play because unlike Shearer, Cole never took penalties.

Loved the first one. Of Irish ancestry? Who`d have known it? Is that why he has an Irish surname?

He did great jobs at Newcastle and Man City, leaving both in much better positions than when he joined. With England he gave it a fair go and realised someone else could do it better. Sven came in and they had a World Cup in 2002. KK actually showed courage in not hanging on while it wasn’t working.
