I agree with E. Something can always be taken away from both the good and bad people in your life. We can all learn from people in our lives. Some times its very difficult to see what the lesson is in the heat of the moment but latter in life you will see that you learned something from that person. Turn the negative things in life into positive life lessons. We never stop learning. Keep an open mind! Peace!

I think what he is trying to say is: don't focus on others, instead focus on yourself and change what matters most in your life. This is a basic but effective tenet to self-improvement. Jealous and envious people never get far in life, instead their always competing without a long-term goal in mind. Success is truly a state of mind. Anyone can be successful, majority just undermine themselves with petty shit. Elliott you have the right mentality, you are a long-term winner. Keep it up!

"Water is fluid, soft, and yielding. But water will wear away rock, which is rigid and cannot yield. As a rule, whatever is fluid, soft, and yielding will overcome whatever is rigid and hard. This is another paradox: what is soft is strong." - Lao Tzu (10:29) I found this particularly applicable. Also, you can't get upset at someone for being exactly who they are, only upset with yourself for placing them in a position to disarm and damage you. Perhaps its a cynical view of human relationships, but its also a good lesson for where to place relationships in your priorities relative to your self interests.

so, the person i think about when i listen to this video i have know since the beginning of September 2015 (we met through mutual education). I had strong feelings to this person (without telling location, age, blah blah) for the longest time, and over the past say 6 weeks have begun to have really negative thoughts towards them (after no longer having the same feelings towards them); they would say something and i always have sarcastic statements that i say under my breathe, and have felt like they dislike me completely, due to us not speaking as much to each other how much as i we once did. As an Angel, this person has allowed me to become a stronger version of myself by allowing me to 'come out of my shell' more towards them than i have ever done before, and so on. As a mirror, *(this is what i mean deeply with this comment)* they have recently shown me that i should look at myself instead of feeling like others dislike me, but completely at how i act towards them. after an argument over how they dislike me (me not thinking of how i have been- the world is your mirror, so it is not surprising to me, looking at it now), we have now completely fallen out, and that bridge has now burnt down so to speak. does anyone have ideas of what i should do? leave it the way it is, or change myself (i am going to anyways) and see what happens?
@manishyadav-lj8ch9 жыл бұрын
Yo Elliott, You are awesome :) The reason i said it is because i have been facing the same situation in my life currently and i was confused what to do about it. As i searched over many videos on youtube to help myself to make a concious decision, i felt that i was in same situation what you are talking about. I have learned to see my environment from a different point of view which is very helpful. PS: Elliot Hulse : An Enlightened Bodybuilder Namaste

Thank you for this video ! I came across this video because I'm having the same problem with my best friend. I feel like he is cutting me off because he is in that place were he is a warrior and he is only wanting to hang out with people that would benefit his career. I started to noticed that he's no longer having fun in life, whenever we would hang out he's mind is somewhere else. He started to make me feel that when he wants to hang with me it would be a chore for him. He would prioritise his other friend more than me. I been noticing this for years now. but i choose to ignore it because I'm his long term friend, I started to noticed that he didnt learn to appreciate me and always put me last. I made the decision to cut him off my life. Even though its sad for me to do it and i felt that i regret that i was blind to just keep being his friend. Part of me feels like i had to do it.

This is excellent. I have failed to recognize angels. Or maybe I have recognized them but I haven't been able to make use of blessing. Immature? Maybe, and I'm also traumatic brain injury survivor. Also poor decisions. But definitely I have physical problem in putting things into context. But again this talk is very useful! It is very important. It makes your listeners more aware. I see my rigidness but I do not see tyrant. It is not there. I see my lack of learning enough from mirrors. It is difficult at times, to discern between toxic- never stay. And mirrors that are not too toxic but actually showing me something. "Even the most degenerate people are there for a reason" This is very important to realize and to accept. I have problem discerning this at times. And I am very beaten up. And have been for a long time. It is what it is. I'm not playing victim. Nor have I given up, but my system cannot take toxicity much at this time. This is also something that you may want to encourage your listeners. What could act as healthy mirrors that should be kept around, should maybe be distanced more. Not because of "them". I'm sure that I have some toxicity in me. People we have in our live are spirits we let in and like food we put into our bodies. Two beers hanging around may be fine but not if you have hepitatic system going. So yes, I agree that in general we do not need to throw many people out of our lives. But each situation is unique as you are aware. Some listeners this post may be an angel. Sometimes we do need to throw many people out. Sometimes a whole family. But this is under rare circumstances, but your circumstance could be rare.

But you never answered Elliott. What if, after analysis, after learning new lessons, after gaining the perspectives...you come to the realization that you made a mistake with bringing this person into your life, as simple as that. How do you cut off the relation with someone you deem close, yet at the same time, do not want to hurt? How can you successfully maintain a neutral relationship without causing harm, as a result of the decreased contact or previously shown affection? Great video, but please address this possibility soon, as I have the exact same situation.

I was thinking the same thing but i believe his answer was to keep them around and re-frame your model of reality to fit them in. In my personal opinion finding a way to cut negative people from you're life would be a valuable skill. But I frame my "degenerate" friends as examples of who not to become, and keep in limited contact. Basically fill your personal life with enough positive activities which reduces the amount of time you could be with them.
