Hi Gemma! This microwave cake is wonderful. I just made a cake in the microwave and some cupcakes in the oven and I can honestly say there was no difference between the two. They were light, fluffy and delicious. I even did a blind taste test with my family and no one could tell the difference. Okay okay okay. Let's get some things straight first. I altered the recipe quite a bit. Used 1 1/3 cup of sunflower oil instead of 2 cups of melted butter. Used 2 cups of white sugar and powdered it, instead of 1 1/2 cup white and 1/2 cup brown. Took 2 cups milk and added 4 teaspoons of vinegar to make my "buttermilk". And well, let's just say, I'M NOT USING ANY OTHER RECIPE AGAIN. It became so delicious, so soft and moist and spongey and beautiful in 3 minutes, why should I even beg my dad to get me a proper oven! Sure, it didn't brown on the top, but it doesn't matter because it's amazing and delicious and yes a bit way too white-looking, but amazing. Seriously. I'm not using any other recipe. By the way, the batter was so much, I made two thin layers of whole cakes, and EIGHTEEN heart-shaped cupcakes. Yum. From now on, I will make sure to buy every utensil and cake pan microwave-safe so that I don't have to wait almost an hour for it become ready to be in my belly XD. Jim Kledis I would suggest making the 3 layers and frosting one. Freeze the other 2 layers separately and pull out, thaw n frost within 4-6 months. Great for short notice pot luck, sudden dinner guests or company, bake sales, funerals (condolences meals are still given in some family/friends circles) soup kitchens or food pantries or housing shelters and on and on...

Wow!! I am constantly amazed by your creations. You're so easy to follow and the recipes are perfect...I've always been intimidated by baking, but not any more. I immediately purchased the silicone baking molds and plan to make a cake of my own as soon as they arrive :-) Two things I want to share with you from watching other videos: 1.) I have now made two batches of Crazy Dough...the first I made your pretzels -- what a hit!! The second batch I froze for later. 2.) I was so excited to find the Irish butter you recommend at my grocery --- don't laugh, but tears almost came to my eyes LOL :-) I love watching your channel and appreciate all you do for your viewers!!

Gemma, let me just say watching you all these years has been such an honour! You somehow always come up with such amazing and cool recipes and ideas for baking! I'd love to see what you have in stock for Haloween! Haloween is probably my favourite holiday just passing Christmas by a little. You should make Haloween sugar cookies or even show us how to make a Nanaimo bars. My mom and grandma make them and they are so fun and easy to make! They are delicious too. I love you Gemma

Man this was awesome. We recently lost our place after covid and now we're in a hotel until further notice, and since I love to bake I've been pretty down reduced to two stove tops and a microwave. But this cake actually turned out great. Thank you so much.
