AWESOME! You can do it! You can. I have done it but I did it when it was a little too late. You do not wan to be where I am. If you do not quit smoking, if you go back to it, ALL that you took for granted, such as walking, breathing, sex, even just small steps to kitchen, bathroom, to even light sports, will be so painful for you, you feel you're 80 years old, dying slowly. It is that painful. You want to stop completely, none of this "maybe," and "if" and no excuses of craving blah blah. Why? If you persist, the damage it does to your heart arteries is IRREVERSIBLE. You cannot reverse it. You are then given medicine, about 8-10 of them, different ones. You got to now be extremely disciplined to take them on exact time they are prescribed to you. You cannot relax anymore. You are now under control of this disease that has poisoned your lungs, your arteries, and a lot of it is irreversible. Stop now, with thought of NEVER going back no matter what or it will cost you to such, you cannot even walk without breathing with extreme chest pains that feels like a heartache. It's extremely painful. This pain goes on for weeks, months and maybe long and even after, no matter of medicine, you cannot fully heal! I cannot even do light exercises without the heart pumping fast and for the chest pain to start. It controls my whole life now and I CURSE THE DAY I STARTED SMOKING! I REALLY DO! I CURSE IT! Out of all decisions I made in my life, this smoking is by far the worse kind ever, the worse that damaged my body.

I smoked for 10 years. I quite for 1 month straight. Relapsed. Mostly because I was emotional. Depressed and angry. For some reason I wasnt connecting the dots that I was depressed because I have quite smoking. I smoked for another 2 months. Now I'm at day 5 without smoking. This time it's so much easier. I catch myself being emotional. Feeling bad for myself. When I catch myself I get angry at myself telling myself not to be weak. The depression episodes have been shortened. I used the side effects of quiting on itself LOL

This is the only video that has helped me - the mental health aspects of the addiction is so much more relevant to the quitting journey. Smokers, we know that it is bad for your health, it is the mental health side of addiction that is crucial, once you can reprogramme your thinking, and perceive the cigarette in a different way. 'Addiction isn't happiness'. That is so well articulated - amazing!

I stopped smoking 2/04/2021 because I did not tell anyone. I also used to watch your videos whenever I needed a reminder why I stopped, so thank you Nasia. You know what? THAT is what worked for me. I did not tell anyone and whenever someone asked me to smoke with them I would tell them I had ALREADY smoked. And is true, I had smoked already all those days before I decided to quit, so why do it again? I had already done it. I told myself that every time I had a craving "Oh I already HAD a cigarette" and I swear to God that saved me everytime. Saying that I HAD done it already basically dissolved the craving because it was true I HAD smoked in my past. Because your subconscious mind really does not know the difference between now and before, the most important thing is not to lie to yourself. I was NOT lying to anyone when I told them I already HAD a smoke, because I HAD sometime in the past, they just didn't need to know that part because what I realized too is that people smoke for validation. And that is why people who smoke get hooked by the peer-pressure. I realized I did not need any validation. I also realized there was a time in my life when I never smoked and therefore I knew how to live without it. Point is DONT TELL ANYONE what you are doing just do it. Best decision I ever made. I am still not myself 100% but I am much better than I have been for the past 7 years in the past 7 months. #breakthecurse #befree

At 52 years old, I have been smoking at least one pack a day since I was 14 years old, at one point that was 2 packs/day. I have tried quitting I total of eight times already, using every available method, but because I also suffer from extreme anxiety and depression, I just end up right back where I started. I absolutely hate myself for not being able to stop, because the truth is I like smoking, it makes me feel good, especially when my depression and anxiety are acting up. In fact it’s the only thing that calms me down. I don’t drink alcohol at all, I’ve, unfortunately, had 95% of my gastrointestinal tract removed because of Crohn’s disease and intestinal cancer, so I don’t eat anything either, the two things most people turn to when quitting smoking, I can’t turn to. The worst part? I’ve had cancer for different times, was told I had less than a 5% chance of survival, but survived every time, I’m like a complete idiot, I kept smoking anyways, totally giving up on life, thinking I was going to die, yet here I remain, 37 operations later, living on permanent long-term disability, and smoking a pack a day still, as my nerves are totally shot. You would think that cancer would scare me into quitting, and it did all four times, but each time, it never lasted more than a month before I went right back to it, and the worst part is, a part of me doesn’t want to quit because I enjoy it so much, but because of my health, I know that I have to quit, but I feel trapped, trapped by an evil substance, that has completely taken over my life, and as I said, I am so mad at myself for being so stupid! I feel totally lost, I don’t know what to do, I have tried the patch, prescription medications, cold turkey, chewing gum, e-cigarette ‘s, you name it I’ve tried it, but nothing works. I know this is a little off topic, but I beg you, anyone who is reading this, please help me find a way and I will to quit for good. In the past money was my main motivational factor, as cigarettes here in Toronto costs $14 for one pack, and living on disability, I was living in poverty to support my smoking habit....BUT.... A friend of mine told me about a store in Chinatown that sells native cigarettes. Not sure what it’s like in other parts of the world, but here in Canada, each Native American reserve produces their own cigarettes, without the same stringent guidelines applied to the other brands sold in all the stores. I can buy three cartons of cigarettes, that’s 30 packs, for only $96, which last me exactly one month, and ever since I discovered these really cheap cigarettes, it’s been even more difficult to quit, because it’s not impacting me financially anymore. So what on earth am I going to do, how do I find the willpower? Not even cancer was enough to scare me into stopping permanently, so I am all ears, if you have any advice that would be helpful I would be forever grateful, because frankly at this point, I’ve given up hope of ever quitting, and the weird thing is, I am the only person in my family that smokes, as it’s no longer considered socially acceptable, but I have never been one to care what society says, I’ve always march to the beat of my own drum, if you’ll pardon the metaphor. So I sit on my 20th floor balcony overlooking the downtown core, smoking all day and night. A huge part of me desperately wants to stop, because I want to live how much healthier life, and I’ve already got so many health problems, but luckily they haven’t impeded my ability the function daily, but I fear that eventually it will catch up with me. Worst of all, I have no real side effects The most smokers yet, like smokers cough, shortness of breath, yellow teeth and fingers, none of that. I’m actually an avid outdoorsman, in the summer I go for 20 km walks every day, or 30 km runs.... or better still, I hop on my bicycle, and will pedal over 50 km without breaking a sweat, and without any shortness of breath whatsoever. Not even my doctors can explain why I’m not affected by my smoking. According to them I shouldn’t be able to breathe given the amount that I smoke and how much surgery I’ve been through, but I have absolutely no side effects from smoking at all, everything points towards my mind telling me there’s nothing wrong with smoking as much as I do, but I do not wanna be that person who has a massive heart attack, and then realizes it was too late. I want to quit before that happens, even though I take my health very seriously and get tested every single year without fail, all of my vitals are absolutely perfect, not one sign of plaque buildup in my arteries, no blockages whatsoever, again, my doctors are absolutely flabbergasted as to how that’s possible given how much I smoke. So now what do I do? I’m actually asking you, maybe there’s something I’m missing, something that I haven’t thought of before, but regardless, I am all ears, thank you for listening, and I’ll appreciate any and all help you can offer! Cheers from Toronto!

@@wesleytyler9599 hard headed, no…go through what I’ve been through, then tell me that. Unless you’ve lived my life, then don’t comment on things you haven’t the slightest clue about. Same goes towards alcohol, fast foods, GMO’s…are you going to say the same to every single person who drinks alcohol or eats unhealthy foods? No? That’s called hypocrisy boys and girls….think before you speak….EVERYONE has unhealthy habits, it’s so convenient that smokers are the politically correct group to harass…THINK AGAIN! Talk about hard headed!

Smoking is that habit that we love and hate because it's our little personal friend and time killer when we are bored and lonely, but also is killing us and making us weaker.... Its such a bitch because I love being smoke free, but then there are times during the day where i feel like something personal is missing....Its such a devious addiction.

Thanks this helps me a lot. I didn't quit yet but im really trying and went from 15-20 cigarettes a day to 3- 5 a day. Funny thing is not so long ago there was a day i didn't smoke at all..i almost didn't notice it until the day after..maybe im actually making some progress hehe. Cold turkey just doesn't work for me specially at night before bed my cravings are way too strong and if i don light up at least one cig before bed I suffer from insomnia all night long.
